They really get out of their way to prevent people from dying. Psych wards are the worst and inhumane. Meds give you a lobotomy and tons of side effects, make you dependent and damage you completely. Family and friends will try to prevent you from doing it because they are sheep and selfish. System really wants their precious taxes, pharma wants their slaves, psychiatry their guinea pigs...

On top of everything, mother nature gave you SI. If you live in pain you are shit out of luck. And if you somehow manage to commit suicide, you don't even know what happens next...

Never being born seems like the best deal.

Yeah, i feel like people especially in the medical field, are such liars.
Phrasing it like every person who tried to ctb regrets it afterwards and that there are no people who really want to do it.
Before I became mentally ill, I never really heard of mental illnesses besides depression and couldn't understand how it works.
Whenever mental illness was brought up, people said that everything is either curable or at least treatable, so you could live a normal life
I kind of imagined that living with a mental illness is the same as having diabetes or asthma and having to carry with you special medicine. Nasty, but not undoable.
Well, here I am, being horribly wrong.

Some people pretended to regret attempting ctb so they can avoid being monitored or even put on a psych ward.

Holy moly this is literally what I have texted to a friend today: 'what's the point of staying alive while everything I want is ctb? There's no point of sending me to a psych ward as I'll be forced to stay alive, I've lost my will to live my life.
If I pretend that I'm at a better place then they will probably let me go without realising that I will be still able to do another attempt.
Think about all the stories you see on the internet about people who get in to a psych ward and as soon as they get out ctb.
Besides, there's in my opinion no point of going for recovery: I have relapsed every year so far since I have struggled with suicidal thoughts, 4 attempts.. I have lost my hope that I won't die by ctb.'
It seems in my opinion all temporary seriously.

Reminds me of a German parabola which ended with the quote: Wer seine Kinder liebt, setzt sie nicht in die Welt.
In English it would be: (a person) who loves their child, doesn't bring them into the world.
If I had a partner and didn't ctb I would most likely sterilize me and adopt a child.

The worst part of SI is when your own mind is playing tricks on you just to keep you alive. Pushing the date of your suicide by constantly adding things to your never-ending bucket list of "things to do before ctb"

SI feels like the same part of the brain that has kept me in this state (hikikomori, recluse all my life since adolescence, borderline NEET). It's made of dreams, mostly, and procrastination to a pathological level. I fantasize about doing something, anything, and my body reacts as if it has already happened. The dopamine is discharged, and the urgent "fire under my ass" motivation to change my life before is too late is clouded if not extinguished

"You live in your little world" is a reproach that has been made to me. When I actually confront how barren my existence is, SI ebbs back and I'm almost at peace.

EXACTLY! It's getting harder to extinguish between fantasy and reality when you've isolated yourself for almost 10 years (and I'm only 21). When I realize what kind of a worthless, useless, hollow shell I've become, the guilt and disgust start creeping in. Then when I actually tried doing something like going out to meet people, I snap back to reality and realized that they're the very reason why I choose this life of isolation. As a result, I crawl back to my shell of isolation and delusion. It may be lonely in here, but at least it's warm and somewhat comfortable. But, no matter how comfortable I feel, deep down I know that something irreplaceable has gone missing and I realize how truly disappointed I am with what I've become.

I don't accept why they don't allow people to leave if they want. Why forcing someone to live a torturing existence? What's good about that?

I think this world is a cruel place. We are mere cogs to keep the machine going, and the elites don't care about the well-being of people but only about taxes, and profit. In fact, slavery wasn't truly abolished, we are still slaves to this system, forced to endure torture to satisfy the ruling class interests.

I am SO glad I realized this at my age. Good luck to humanity, the future doesn't look so great with the complete and total enslavement to artificial intelligence. So good luck with that, I wish I was born 600+ years ago as a native islanders somewhere living off the land. This society is PURE toxic trash. So glad I realized it.

the fact humans have to be charged funeral cost in death is disgusting. We can't even die for free to go 6 feet under. So SICK of this world

For me it's more infuriating than scary. They keep us alive because it is beneficial to them. They make so much money out of our suffering, out of our illnesses. The system is so corrupt. Even in illness all they care about is money.

In every economy, the gdp (gross domestic product) is the priority, not the well-being of the citizens.
New Zealand was the first country to change it, whilst there was an article written on this:

New Zealand's latest budget, unveiled this week, is being touted as the first in a Western country to put well-being over economic pressures.

I think it simply is a manifestation of mankind's primitive drive to reproduce. However bizarre it may sound, people who no longer fear death and even may be prepared to die by their own hand have in a way evolved beyond being simple animarls.

it is always suprising for me how stupid human being can be . Governements , police , army (all these awful people) do what ever that they can to not let some who is suffering to die . But they kill many people who want to be alive . There is still death penality in many counties . Governements are the cause of war in any place in the world . There are still many people who die from hunger because governements want to keep power for themselves by making limitation in resources

Someone posted a short while ago that the government of UK? looses about 1,1 million I think for every person who ctb. Many governments also function on a religious basis even first world countries. And suicide is a sin in almost every religion.

I think the main reason it isn't legalised and regulated like in some more liberal EU countries, is because religious values still have a strong hold over the governments of the world and it's something of a taboo people don't talk about enough. They don't want to question the dogma. Even as Christianities grip has loosened, we are left with the core belief system. Which don't get me wrong has a lot of good aspects to it, but it needs to be questioned sometimes in a more objective way.

It comes back to whether you are following Kantian ethics (absolute rules should govern us) or Utilitarianism ethics (actions for the greater good should govern). Kantian ethics would tell us killing is wrong, so never kill. Utilitarian ethics would say, killing is fine when it suits the well-being of the majority. Note, that many ethical decisions are governed by these two ways of thinking. So you could easily argue from an utilitarian pespective euthanasia in extreme cases of mental or physical illness is a good idea because we reduce the pain and suffering of the many.

Whats clear is those in power are showing double standards, as they support certain wars and kill people readily, but won't support voluntary euthanasia of some one in extreme incurable pain. This is the sign of an overly authoritarian society that represses open minded debate.

Not only that, most of the doctors don't even have the Integrity to be honest to us. For example euthanasia, reasoning against it are for ethical believes in not interfering in a human life. What are they then doing now? Saving people from illnesses is the same exact thing. Let people decide, give them the tools to feel safe and have a dignified end.
Im sure suicides would even drop, knowing in the back of their heads, they have the possiblity to choose a peaceful end at their will.

I know we all here have many different views on the bible and such. I'm just mentioning this because it's something I've pondered quite a lot.
In Revelation there is mention that there would be a time when people would long to die but cannot. So interesting to me. Years ago life was much shorter. You died early of diseases and injuries because there was no cure. And I think that was better! Now we have all these advances in medicine to keep people alive longer but not necessarily with a good quality of life. And to me it's still interfering technically.
I think a long life of 90 years is too long. I know my two grandparents that lived into their 90s were pretty miserable. They often said they were ready to go, years before they died.
My grandmother finally refused any treatment and ended up dying of pneumonia. It was ugly and distressing for the family to witness. I've had many dogs euthanized and it was so peaceful. Yet my grandmother had to suffer with pneumonia until dying. I dont understand how that is morally acceptable.
She had had a stroke and was living in a nursing home laying in bed all day for 10 years. She had finally had enough. Poor grandma.

Everything that doesn't fit the 'normality', and CTB falls perfectly onto that, are strongly pursued in order to bring them at normal or 'how it is supposed to be' by the society system.

It makes me so angry that the vast majority of people feel that suicide, assisted dying and euthanasia are either sinful, selfish or both. No one but you knows the pain you live with, be it physical or mental. As for psych wards, I agree. I've spent enough time on the fuckers. The doctors are useless, immoral wankers.
As for what happens after, I believe it's exactly the same as before you were conceived. You didn't exist then, and you won't exist after.

Well, sorry to bring in the bad news , but this world only PRETENDS to care about you , your life, and your quality of life ...they don't want you to kill yourself but they also want you to " tOuGH uP" and " sTOp coMpLAiniNg" - basically accept spending your life competing to be/stay at the top 20% of society's success scale, or resign to being treated like shit your whole life - that's where the hypocrisy lies. On the contrary, I'd say this world is ruled by sadists who want us to be scared little things who beg for their very right to exist ; you have to firmly demand and fight to be treated with dignity by the institutions, and humiliate yourself just not to be left to die in the ER or in a hospital ( yes I've seen it happen) - unless you have shit tons of money . In a sense suicidality is outraging the masses because it's a form of disobedience, not because people actually care about their neighbour, colleague, guy next door dying.
