I'm an agnostic-atheist and not religious but I I've been thinking lately, maybe the people on this Earth are being punished for something they've done in some other reality?
You know they say "the good die young" meaning the most terrible of people live on.
In my experience this is generally true, seems like the most compassionate people I've ever known had illnesses/accidents befall them out of their control, then in nursing homes the most hateful and cruel live their sentence out on this hellscape of a planet. I used to be very misanthropic, but then I was able to frame the bigger picture as the years went by...

So 10% of apes (humans are apes) on this planet own 85% of the world's wealth,
with 1% of apes owning 45% of all the world's wealth! That leaves the bottom 90% competing over 15%... scraps left to billions.

Then trillions of animals get murdered for literally no reason every year, cos cruelty is part of human nature and they make justifications to any caused suffering.
Cos most (my most used word cos there's always exceptions) humans don't give a toss about doing the kindest thing but following the crowd.

But even nature itself that bore humans is a living hell, other animals kill, r@**, hurt for fun by instinct and if the source of humanity is also hell, are we surprised the products of it, the "great apes" are also shitty?
Of course many humans argue we've "evolved", yet most people are being fucked over every day on this planet and we literally murder more living beings than any animal that has existed on this planet. Yet people think this is what civilised and"humane" means?

I mean you look throughout history at the 0.5% of humans who stood up to suffering and tried to make the world a less shittier place; many of them were viewed with contempt and scorn from the masses. Hell, even today, vegans get shit on and roasted just for having a different view compared to the masses and promoting less suffering. Then even some of humanity's beacons of hope has shady backgrounds if you dig deeper into their life,

Then you factor in CHAOS on top of all this, where a lot of things are up to chance and uncontrollable. So in the grand scheme of things, how then, is this not purgatory? I thought suicidal people would be more empathetic and kind, but there are many terrible and shitty suicidal peeps as well. (Including me, I eat meat.)

In a strange way, everything makes sense the more I ruminate on it, everything is just cruel by design, suffering is the standard on this earth, whether it's the natural or human world.
With everything I've talked about, suicidal people or people who have lost touch with reality are the most logical and rational. Cos who the hell would want to live in purgatory right???
I'm still gonna ctb but I'm scared there's a chance this cycle repeats again.
Sorry, if I'm just rambling nonsense, the voices in my head have been too loud and I can not focus at times.

You do have a valid point. Mine is a bit extreme, I think this is the "Bad place" and we are hoping to return to the "Good place" like from the series, "The Good Place".
It has to be. Nothing makes sense here as you yourself pointed out so clearly. I think the Good souls you refer to are the lucky ones to ascend to "Heaven". Maybe in the entire concept of Heaven and Hell, this is hell as we are the fallen ones here.

I watched that show after my last attempt and I was already having strong thoughts about being in hell and I lost it for a bit after finishing the first season. It was like I was being made fun of. Good show tho

You are not alone. I feel the same way every day, but then I console myself that one day it will end.

I've had the thought before that it's impossible for me to ctb and I'm meant to suffer for a long time. Sorta like quantum immortality. It's scary i just want to be gone too.

Leaving a positive note here. The people fighting for a fairer world eventually win - if not while alive, then through their legacy. Usually fairness is rational, and rational is efficient and effective, also stable. So it probably tends to prevail over long periods of time. I am thinking about the idea of human rights and how after many centuries it firmly settled in many of today's societies. Compare them with feudal societies centuries ago, and it is like comparing day to night.

I am hopeful because if we can do wrong, we can also do right and tell the difference. That wisdom is one of the biggest gifts humanity has.

But I don't know. If our Creator weren't benevolent, we wouldn't be able to ever imagine or live moments of happiness or joy, or find medicine to disease. As for the natural world, it is what it is. For the human world, it is mostly humans, through their unrestrained free will, that make Earth hell for others.
