Anyone else have dreams where they die? Is it a sign death is calling me?

Just woke up from a short nap and had a weird dream. I was eating at some restaurant and a gunman or gang member came looking for some guy with a gun and every one was running and screaming and panicking. I felt as calm as ever and jus continued eating then he started shooting at me and i woke up. Not gonna lie, that I was pretty sad that it was only a dream.

I've had dreams where I fell off a very tall building many times and another dream a truck crashing into me a few months ago.

Anyone else die in their dreams? Is this a sign death is calling me?

Haven't had them in years, but mine are all reoccurring dreams of drowning, though in different locations/situations

I don't think death is necessarily *calling you". Since you are here, you probably think about death frequently making it a likely topic for dreams. I have had dreams about death my entire life including long before I was suicidal and I have never thought that fact meant anything in particular.

All the time. It's quite soothing actually, until I wake up.

I've had several. Honestly I think dreams are just the brain taking the thing you thought of during the day and making crazy stories out of them. So I would agree with the above that you dream about death simply because you think about death.

I never dreamed myself dying, it is hard for me to dream for some reason, but I sometimes daydream about death.

Last night I had a dream where I shot myself with a shotgun. although I don't own firearms. I've been thinking more about death. I think that's why.

Know it's late to reply, but I always have dreams of dying and I don't always think of dying( with my mind my dreams are usually a mix of horror,fantasy,magic and reality all rolled into one) but when I dream of dying, be it stabbed without knowing (like bumping into sumone who's attacked sumone else and running away)( and no I didn't feel it —very high pain threshold) etc.. I wake up sad but also like that was a very relaxing sleep-esp wen my blood oxygen drops below 80 durin those dreams) like the song " the dreams in which I'm dying are the best I've ever had".

I've had multiple dreams about dying, suicide, and nearly being killed, lol. It's not a sign of death calling you. While we don't know for sure why we dream, dreams are likely just a byproduct of our brains organizing and sorting out things while we sleep. There are other theories about it potentially happening for reasons, such as building memories, to analyze past events, to aid us in our emotional processing, etc. Point is, having dreams about death isn't a sign of death calling you. It's likely just a reflection of yourself and your own thoughts.

I had a dream that I was running in the water and someone was chasing me. A couple of of months later my son died in the water! Some dreams can be true!
