I admit that I'm a serious introvert. I dislike talking to people and truly get down at the prospect of having to make small talk. One thing and phenomenon I can't stand today is the prevalence of unwanted calls for everything from insurance and small business sales to scams. I dislikeanyine being able to reach me. I think I would buy a phone that did data only with no voice or phone calls. I would rather there be no way to reach me.

I get a perverse sense of satisfaction that I get to block almost any call that comes in. I realize this does not damage to the call center or random called but it does make me feel good. I once got into an argument with a person who worked as a manager at a call center because he felt strongly that people should engage when marketing comes out. I sort of laughed at him that if people aren't answering then that alone should tell him no one wants to communicate that way.

I sort of wish that most spam/bottom feeding/pushy/scam style businesses and jobs.woild just dry up and be done. Make the economy become the reality that no one wants to buy anything they didn't specifically want or need. I wonder what would happen if no one needed wal.mart for two or three years. No one used their phones and no one bought leaf gutter guards or dealt with insurance other than making the payments. Would any of this marketing end of .we all stopped spending?

I think about that futility a lot.

i get scam calls everyday since i found a post on facebook about "bitcoin prime" enter my number and comfirmed it via entering the code they texted me ever since then, i've had scams calls everyday i just block the number but they ring back on a different number each day from various scam companies, one time this guy rang me back 4 times on after another on a different number each time so blocking him was no use.

i signed up because it seemed like a genuine Amazon project and I wanted to find out more. Serious mistake. Numerous calls from many countries. Asked many times to be taking off their data base to no avail. Blocked numerous numbers but they still keep coming.

Another introvert here.
I haven't answered a single phone-call today, and there are messages on viber I haven't even looked at for days.
I abhor the phone other than the internet.

But this is life teaching me a lesson, since I used to manage a call-center for 5 years (doing debt-collection for banks).
I raised the daily quotas constantly, reaching 250 calls per person per day.
I am responsible for over 7 million phone calls... 7 million is the population of my country.
I ruined 7 million days of people.
I quit that job, although I lived like a king then.
When I quit, they started to call me.

Yep, hate them, only answer to my mom. I also hate one on one texting/talking irl, and therefore struggled with friends my whole life. The only friends i have now are online and group chat, so no social expectation from me. Takes away the stress.

absolutely dread when the phone says "no caller id" in particular. i've had this group of girls from one of my high schools continuously prank-call me since i left the school. i genuinely don't understand why they still do it...we are all in our 20s now... blocked every number i can think of and they still find a way to keep calling me...

I have had my phone on silent for over 10 years. I also have my voicemail etc off. I have any groups I am in muted too, so I can chose when to review stuff.

Probably why hardly anyone ever calls me, suits me just great.

Yep, mostly because it's debt collectors. I never answer the phone these days unless it's a number in my contacts.

Pro tip: keep your phone silenced. If there are people you do want to hear from, you can add them to a list so their texts and calls always go through. If at some point you are waiting for a call or text and you don't have the person's number, then you can take the phone off silent mode until you get the call you're waiting for, and then tell it to shut up again. Unless you're a first responder or have a similarly time-sensitive job, you don't need to be reachable 24/7, and you certainly don't owe people an immediate reply or an answer to every phone call. Until 15 or 20 years ago, most people weren't reachable at all if they weren't at home. We weren't responding to texts 24/7. And life was able to carry on. It's your life and your time, so feel free to set boundaries you're comfortable with.

Personally, my phone will only make a noise if my parents, sibling, therapist, or one friend calls or texts. No one else, nothing more than that. Even for my job, people know to text me first, and I usually get back to them in a reasonable time frame.

Another pro tip: turn notifications off for everything. You'll be surprised how much better your days can be without a bloody pocket computer screaming to get your attention constantly.

I hate it but recently got into enjoying the scam calls, it's fun leading them on and generally dicking them.around. It's worse when I know who it is ringing

I wish that whole industries related to scams, and low earnings and bizarre.marketing would simply die. I can't believe so much effort goes into trying to hope that someone will be scammed into buying something .

I don't get any phone calls anymore since everyone in my life died. I don't even get telemarketing calls or scam calls for some reason. The only calls that I do get are when I initiate a call to some business for something, which isn't often, and leave them a voicemail message, whereby they call me back.
