I admit that I'm a serious introvert. I dislike talking to people and truly get down at the prospect of having to make small talk. One thing and phenomenon I can't stand today is the prevalence of unwanted calls for everything from insurance and small business sales to scams. I dislikeanyine being able to reach me. I think I would buy a phone that did data only with no voice or phone calls. I would rather there be no way to reach me.
I get a perverse sense of satisfaction that I get to block almost any call that comes in. I realize this does not damage to the call center or random called but it does make me feel good. I once got into an argument with a person who worked as a manager at a call center because he felt strongly that people should engage when marketing comes out. I sort of laughed at him that if people aren't answering then that alone should tell him no one wants to communicate that way.
I sort of wish that most spam/bottom feeding/pushy/scam style businesses and jobs.woild just dry up and be done. Make the economy become the reality that no one wants to buy anything they didn't specifically want or need. I wonder what would happen if no one needed wal.mart for two or three years. No one used their phones and no one bought leaf gutter guards or dealt with insurance other than making the payments. Would any of this marketing end of .we all stopped spending?
I think about that futility a lot.
