Anyone else get compliments about their appearance?

i know this is an asshole post but I'm just curious
People told me that I could model, that my nose is pretty, that I look like someone famous but it never did anything for me.
It was just a secret ego boost that resulted into nothing.
Like even if I got a good grade id feel happy for 5 minutes and then go back to feeling neutral about everything

I've contacted every non-kill shelter and non-kill animal place in the state I live in. They are full of cats and kittens. I just can't have her put to sleep at a shelter with no one holding her or loving her. I know this sounds stupid and selfish but she is older. I even asked my vet (and other vets in the area) if they could take her - answer was no. If you have any ideas I would appreciate any of them.

I've been getting a lot of comments about how I've seemingly lost weight during the pandemic but it just hurts more than anything because I actively did not try at all and I'd rather not be compelled to try to improve myself in any way shape or form because I don't deserve it and I definitely don't deserve these compliments on my physical appearance which people would take back if they only knew the real me.

I hate my appearance, but a few people have said I look like some celebrity. I tend to just shut down the conversation and move on to something else. To be honest, I think they're just flatterers, and complimenting my appearance is the worst way to try to appeal to me. Exactly the same for me. Until a few months ago, my posture was pretty bad as well, which certainly didn't help. Facial hair is so bloody annoying. Mine grows so fast that I would have to shave daily in order to look presentable, but it's too patchy to just grow a beard and call it a day.

Google assistance however has said that I'm good-looking, so at least that's something. But to be serious... Bodies come and go, so I'd rather people praised my intelligence, humor, kindness, helpfulness, sense of justice and personality than some random body I'm only in for a moment.

Sometimes, but those are difficult to accept.

I enjoy giving compliments.

Some people think there's an ulterior motive for doing so. There isn't. I can find appreciation for even the smallest unique features.

I am the same when it comes to women. They are such remarkable and lovely creatures. I appreciate the near countless list of unique and delightful things about them. One cannot help but to be compelled to compliment them or say and do things to make them feel good.

As far as me, I am repulsive to most it seems. Actions and comments make it obvious, along with a dreadful length of singlehood. But, I do not try to hide my looks nor do I spend hours trying to find the perfect camera angle or anything similar. It is what it is. You like it or you don't. We all have our disadvantages, one of mine is easy to see. I will probably add a picture to my profile as I never liked the idea of someone potentially getting an inaccurate image of me in their head to later be disappointed. I also like the idea of adding a more human element to the site but I see the argument both ways here. I have no fears of people in the real seeing it and knowing my business.

I could find something to like about anyone, but the unfortunate part is the opposite side of the coin; there's seemingly lots to dislike about many people. Most of that being their cruel, callous behaviors.

I might appear visually appealing this way, or that way. Or the opposite. Visually unappealing, repulsive. Not all people are photogenic. They appear differently at different angles, in different lighting, different clothing.

I've posted my photo before. People have doxxed me in general.

I had no fear of people seeing or knowing this either. For the same reason that I have proven it repeatedly. That what I have said is true. That what has occurred is a fact and not in fiction.

It's more ANNOYING than anything that they think it's going to cause more harm than what's already been done.

Start going after the shit disturbers who created these problems, not the people like me who are sick of it.

They know what they did. They know they're fucked up. They know.

I consider myself a SENIOR citizen at 71. I still wear the same size pants as when I discharged from the military 50 years ago. I'm considered tall and slim, still have most of my hair and only grey hair is around the chin of my full beard. I'm often told I look much younger than my true age. Things to brag about? No. Things to be thankful for? Not necessarily. I have a multitude of problems related to my military service in Vietnam. One condition is ultimately fatal and I'm on a ventilator since I lost half my left lung due to breathing the fine mist of Agent Orange. I'm tired of the struggle I have to endure every day so the compliments are meaningless to me as they don't match how I feel personally. My looks are my least concern and I get no joy from then. But, if you do then by all means celebrate the event. Take joy where you can. Peace be with you.

Yes. People into tall, dark, hairy, bearded guys still find me attractive. I'm well built & in shape. I'm probably still alive because of my looks. I've always taken advantage of the fact that I'm considered handsome & I'm not ashamed of it. I deserve some form of compensation for being forced to endure a decade of sexual abuse as a child & developing C-PTSD. It's quite disturbing that I get complimented on looking & sounding (my voice is very deep) like my father/abuser, though. I even fucking sneeze like him; it's always four or five sneezes in very quick succession. Disgusting. At least he never smiled or laughed, so I have something that's all mine.
