I don't know how else to word this but I feel this sense of, I don't know, helping people, when I emotionally support their decision to commit suicide (as y'all have done for me-thank you), gives me a temporary sense of purpose. I feel understood, and I am helping others feel understood. It's like this one part of myself hidden within my thoughts finally comes out without some kind of consequence.

Thank you for not making me feel like a fucking monster simply because I (like most of you, I assume) believe that life isn't meant for everyone, and sometimes suffering simply has to end.

I don't feel that purpose. But as someone who really wants to ctb I really have some appreciation for you and people like you who feel that sympathy and understand it is our choice to do it and want to help people who may not know how to do it that well. I'm sure many people who don't want to be here feel that way too. So, you're not a monster at all.

I mean it's better to help them do it properly than to not help them and they potentially mess up.

I do feel some sort of importance and purpose, especially when I know the method well enough to educate others on how to do it properly. I will however, not encourage/dissuade others in their decision as that is their decision and it's their personal choice and choice alone (whether they choose to go through with it or not).

100% agree. More importantly to ensure that it has minimum distress and equally that they don't feel alone at the end.

it does feel good to help. Especially if its helping someone dealing with the same issues. For some reason is easier to have hope for other than yourself

I agree. it's all based out of compassion for me.

I view depression as I view any other illness that won't fucking get better. It's not ethical to let someone suffer. I'm depressed. At least I feel like I'm helping other people have peace.

If you want acceptance from me, you will get it, and we can bullshit all day without me spending one ounce of energy preventing your death.

If you express you are unsure in anyway, like there is a reason for you to live, but you can't accept it, I'm going to try and help you live.

I refuse to push somebody who is on the fence to my side of the grass. It's really a driving reason I'm here. I know most of you can't be saved, and that's who I can connect with. However, if you are not committed to the decision of death, I will try and push you towards life.

That's the only way I can justify being pro-choice. I don't want a saviour myself, but I'd gladly be that person if somebody is reaching out for it.

Idk if I feel a purpose but if I can help anyone in their final hours or days, or even people who have just started contemplating and maybe can be helped, it would be wonderful for them to get help and lead a happy successful life.

If you're committed to CTB, you should go with minimal suffering in the end - that's my purpose in my remaining days on this earth; to help others by educating them properly on the methods.

I feel like by talking to people before they CTB and by being a friend to them, I'm throwing a "go-away" party of some kind. Kind of a strange way to word it, but it's my way of saying "godspeed."

Suffering shouldn't be the block between us and what lies beyond our challenges that not all of us can deal with, but it's there so we might as well make it as minimal as possible. The block shouldn't be as hard to get over. Why let someone try to jump over the block and get hurt in the process and scolded by people who don't understand rather than help them move the block?

Many people are not celebrated in life. They, at least, deserve a celebration in death.

It's also wishing them an end to their pain and suffering. If that is the road they must walk down for relief then let's send them off with a full pack of supplies and everything else they deserve.

Far more respectful than calling the fuzz and spiraling their shit into hospital bills that you're not obligated to pay.

Eventually, you get tired of it and your compassion gives way to duty and scorn.

I've gone from "Are you okay?" to "Again? Really?" It's not pleasant from both perspectives.

I wish there was a politer way to say "your body, your choice" but i can't think of shit.

I came to see it as prolonging someone's suffering. Each time getting worse and worse until, finally, it's done right. Shit way to live if you're alone.

Once self-righteousness is thrown out of the equation, one can finally realize that ctb is rational.

I tend to give it one time if it's a cry for help/attention thing and/or ridiculously impulsive. Completely different when it's a pattern or planned out. Someone who can approach it with calm and reason is a different breed altogether.

IIRC it is said that you cannot logic and reason yourself into living and it's only by faith that you can continue.
