Anchor point worries

Everything's fucked as usual. I've been scammed for a rope??? Only £25 but what the fuck I ordered it well over a month ago and I've received fuckall. I've emailed the company 3 times and got fuckall back. I'm going to have to go somewhere and buy one with my own hands, I can't be arsed with the anticipation thinking I've got a rope on route. Do not order from a company called rope services uk they are bullshitters.

Anyway my point of this thread is I'm really worried I won't have a decent anchor point. I can't kill myself at home as my mum has a key and is on my case. the other day I had a 3 hour nap and because I didn't answer my phone she let herself in and went berserk.

So right now I'm in a hotel, today is deffo not the day but I'm sat here looking round and there isn't a anchor point anywhere at all. I'm really worried im going to get myself all ready for it then literally have nowhere to hang myself.

So now im thinking I'll need a full apartment so at least I'll have a few rooms to try and find somewhere. But my plan is to factory reset my phone and throw my SIM card out the window before I do it but imagine if I can't do it then I also have no phone and no Uber to get away from wherever I am. Im so confused and anxious.

Thanks to anyone who reads this vent, i really appreciate this site and everyone on it more than you'll ever know.

That does sound like a frustrating situation to be in and of course I hate the fact how it can be this difficult to die. Planning suicide really is so unnecessarily complicated especially if there are other people who could potentially interfere causing our attempt to fail. Other people really should have no right to intentionally get in the way of suicide plans, but anyway best of luck.

I'm sorry to hear about your suffering and yes, it sucks that even those who are close to us do not respect our wishes, especially the most important one, the right to die on one's own terms. I'm hoping you are able to find what you are looking for and find peace in the future.

It's so bad isn't it I've set a date and I really want the day to be chilled. When I get stressed I rush things and fuck things up. I wish you the best and hope you find a good anchor point.

sorry to hear that. i bought my rope at a hardware store, but that isn't an option for everyone
and a good anchor point that should be anywhere is the metal bar inside a closet

Maybe an airbnb would have better anchor point options. They usually have detailed pics of the place so you can get a sense before you book.

The bar can vary in build quality and not everything is built equally. Best to load test your anchor point beforehand. Other things to consider is if you anchor at the middle or end of the bar, length of the bar, how its attached, etc. Just things to consider/ food for thought

I think if you can attach the rope and hang on it while moving around and some tugging for 30 secs, Id say its solid anchor point

hmmm that's interesting thank you. i just tried what you said on the middle part of the bar and it's held up great. hopefully it holds bc this is my only way out

Thankyou surely to god if I get a full apartment I'll find somewhere that can hold me. I'm 52kg so not massive but it needs to be full suspension I can't get my head around how partial works.

No I haven't conisidered a tree I don't know anywhere that is completely secluded and I'm 5'3 or 161cm, so I don't think I'd be able to climb one to set up my rope. It seems much easier to do it inside and then you'll know you're fully private. Yeah I love the hanging mega thread although it is mostly about partial.

Can someone not just use a paracord? You can get them easily from decathlon, they are really strong and low friction too.
