Here is yet another one of my favorite 1930s recordings, "An Evening in June" by Irving Aaronson and his Commanders. The lyrics may be a bit cliched but that's what makes it so great. It describes a perfect evening in the month of June, full of tropes such as whippoorwills, shadows dancing and patience.
Most of the nights for most people throughout human history have been rather routine, and very few have been as perfect as this song describes.
With just four days left in this year's month of June, I suggest you take one of the next four evenings and spend it the way you like.
99% of the evenings of our lives are routine and unfulfilling. Let's all take a page from "An Evening in June" and give ourselves that perfect night we will remember for the rest of our lives.
