Amitriptyline and Propranolol

I have access to 25mg tablets of Amitriptyline and 40mg tablets of propranolol which I intend to take in combination.


Since it's going to take quite a lot of pills, I figure I could grind the required amount with a pestel and mortar, and create a suspension out of it using a suspension vehicle such as Ora-Sweet.

Hopefully that will mask the taste? It should hopefully also stop the Amitriptyline from causing my oral mucosa to numb.

From my research a fatal dose of Propranolol is around 2g. So I intend to take that along with 4g of Amitriptyline. Do you think that will be enough?

Personally, I think you need to increase the amounts for both drugs.

PPH recommends 8-10g of Amitriptyline and that's with Benzos and Meto.

Yes people have died from that amount of propranolol, but a lot of people have survived it up to 4g too from the meta analysis I read. I would have at least 4g of Propanolol minimum.

I haven't read any papers about using both though.

I have to choose between 100mg extended release tablets or 50mg "normal" tablets.
Are the extended release ones suitable for an overdose?

AFAIK, it won't make a difference. You'll be dissolving or crushing the ER tablets so it'll get absorbed the same as the normal anyway.

EDIT: Some tablets have a special coating. You'll need to check whether they are film coated or have the special type. If it's the other type I don't think you can use them.
