Amarula 8.5/10

This delicious liqueur is almost as good as Bailey's Irish cream in my opinion. It is a cream liqueur blended with a fruit only found in Africa. It is not as sweet as Bailey's. It is beautifully subtle. It has an alcohol content of 17%.

Mozart Milk Chocolate 8.5/10

I believe this drink to be superior to the fellow award winning chocolate liqueur Bailey's Chocolate Luxe. It is richer. My only complaint is the taste of alcohol comes through with a large enough mouthful. It has an alcohol content of 17%. It's hard to imagine any chocoholic disliking this liqueur.

Domaine de Canton 8/10

This might be the best non-cream liqueur I've tried, but you might not think so highly of it based on the first few sips. Like Aramula, reviewed above, this liqueur's first few sips are much more unpleasant than those that follow. It's like the-cream-rises-to-the-top notion stood on its head: the unpleasantness rises to the top. I don't know what accounts for this phenomenon and whether it can be prevented, by shaking, for example. The liqueur becomes tastier with each sip.

This ginger liqueur has an alcohol content of 28% and the alcohol taste is masked almost completely. It has a delicious lingering ginger aftertaste. It is the most expensive of all the liqueurs reviewed here.

Bailey's Irish Cream 9/10

This is the gold standard in cream liqueurs and has a 17 year winning streak in the San Francisco Liquer awards. The taste of alcohol is completely masked by the sweet cream. Sublime.

Licor 43 6.5/10

This is a vanilla liqueur made in Spain. It has an alcohol content of 30%. The alcohol taste isn't well hidden and constitutes the majority of the aftertaste. It is nevertheless a highly drinkable liqueur with a lovely vanilla hit.

Hollandia 3.5/10

The Dutch have their fair share of high quality pilsners, Grolsch is good example, but Hollandia is not one of them. Tastes like pesticide.

Three Oaks Apple Cider 7/10

I don't know if this is found outside Australia. It might be found in New Zealand, who have their own top notch cider, the world class Orchard Thieves, which I was set to try yesterday but did not for reasons which will only bore the reader.

I've heard people describe this as too sour, but I don't find this to be the case. And it's not because I like sourness: when I'm looking to buy a packet of chips I hardly ever consider salt and vinegar, because they make my face scrunch up. Three Oaks is a scrumptious balance of sourness and sweetness, the 8% alcohol content completely hidden.

Oettinger 4/10

What I said about Dutch beers above applies here and to an even greater extent, but steer clear of this beer, which is cheap for a reason.

Kilkenny 8/10

A wonderful Irish beer from the makers of Guinness. It has a lovely creamy texture and is a pleasure to drink. My only gripe is its low alcohol content (by my standards).
