I'm looking to try alcohol for the first time. Something that will fuck me up until I forget everything, but tastes sweet and doesn't burn a lot on the way down. I can't cope anymore, I need to forget. It's too much
My favorite drink has always been beer, so I can't really recommend you anything (also, idk what drinks are available where you live). But I need to tell you, as someone who HAD to stop drinking at 20 years old, alcohol only gave me more problems. It was good to get haha fucked up but almost every conflict I had in my life was due to alcohol, almost every fuck up I did was bc I was drunk all the time. So yea, it may make everything worse.
It's not like stopping made my life a dream come true buuut it did make a few troubles disappear. (Some problems go away, lots of new ones come)
Try some Moscato, it's wine but it's a good start and it's sweet. Or get some vodka and some juice, mix it the way you want. You could also try beer. Just don't go too hard early on. Work your way up to the harder stuff. And like others here said, don't overdo it. You don't want to be a alcoholic.

1) don't develop a drinking habit -- i can 100% assure you it will make whatever you're going through way worse, and also burn through your wallet
2) if you want to ignore that advice: disaronno is very sweet and you can down it easily and get fucked quickly. but most bang for your buck is mixing bottom shelf vodka
please be careful

OP, you say you need to forget. Have you considered the option of sedating yourself instead? It's another way of escaping the pain without the problems alcohol entails.

@meles_inoris A glass of wine with food, then a nap can be relaxing. Honey water with a wee bit vodka is also nice, IMO. Whichever you end up drinking, please eat something along so your stomach won't be upset after.

I'm a vodka and soda/juice person...it's the only thing that keeps me sane but harms me at the same time. I try not to judge so good luck either way....our time here is limited so make of it the best you can
Sometimes, well alot of times alcohol doesnt make you forget..Just numbs you and makes you more impulsive and destructive.
Your feelings may become amplified and do things you normally wouldnt have done.
May end up behind bars for that warmth in your belly and boost of confidence.Alcohol is a trap for many, only leading to a more steeper slope to tumble down.
Its all fun in the beginning.

How do you know cider isn't strong enough. As a recovering alcoholic ANY alcohol will work. I'm guessing your either very young or very naive. If you're on this forum and you haven't tried alcohol before they you really aren't at your last resort and you Alan it definitley haven't hit rock bottom

I could have written this! This very thing has been on my mind lately. All of the vices I have (and there are a few) aren't enough to take me away from the hell that is my reality.
There are definitely other substances you can consider instead of liquor.
You are posting in recovery so I assume you want to get better. The reality is, whatever you are trying to run away from, you can never get away from it. You must gather the courage to confront it head on, learn to deal with it effectively and healthily, and move on from there.
Liquor does not help with this. To quote someone else, it is a "consciousness-contracting (rather than expanding) agent".
Try LSD. Or MDMA. maybe DMT, Ketamine, perhaps even Cannabis under the right circumstances and usages. Don't start with alcohol if you haven't already been cursed by its touch.
25cl lemon juice, 75cl vodka, 100g sugar
Put in freezer for 1h...
Down it goes like lemonade 1L of this can go down in under an hour. Not a good idea unless you want the DTs or a trip to A&E with alcohol poisoning
Frosty Jack's is a good strong cider that's sweet.
Then I also like Peroni but that isn't strong.
I think Stella Artois was my first drink as I been an addict since I was 12 lol.

I know where you're coming from and I agree that drugs like these can do wonders if used correctly, but they are illegal and difficult to come by for most people. More importantly, notice that the OP doesn't have experience of alcohol and I would extrapolate that they don't have experience of scheduled drugs either. Given this, strong mind-altering drugs are perhaps not the best recommendation.
