Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

I have harped on using AI for serious, factual research before as I think it is a real issue. Below is a video by a great youtube channel with a short and simple explanation of the issues with doing so.
Key takeaways:
  • AI will make up "facts" that are untrue
  • AI will site sources made up by other AI that are untrue
  • AI is not alive, does not think, and does not feel
I do not have a problem with AI in general, but the general public (lead by AI company marketing) is convinced AI can do tasks that it is very obviously not ready for. Just remember to take what an LLM says with a grain of salt.

Good points. Specially when it comes to CTB. We are talking about life. Better rely on more trustworthy sources than AI. It's a good tool, if used properly.

As an AI proponent and enthusiast, I just want to chip in with a solid agreement. I think AI is great, but there's too much hype surrounding it. One ought to see it for what it is.

I hope that all the obvious misinformation from AI, teaches people to be more critical. Because it's indeed also true, that:
  • People will make up "facts" that are untrue
  • People will site sources made up by other people that are untrue
  • People are indeed alive, but they don't always think, and they don't always feel

I did get ChatGPT to give advice on fsh which kind of aligned closely to Evelyn's guide. Not sure it would answer that consistently

We're still at the beginnings of where AI is going. I'd say "buckle up" 😬
