  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

I have educated myself on information on the Suicide WIki and megathreads. I have got to a point where I have marked my carotid pulse with a sharpie, placed the rope directly upon it, yet I still compress the juglars which makes it extremely uncomfortable. I have only been able to get to rope placement correctly on the carotid twice, backing off right before unconscious with no discomfort. I wish I took a moment to analyze where the rope was before getting excited and believing I could replicate it again.

I have been practicing daily for a couple of hours at time, taking breaks in between to not occlude too much blood flow to the brain. I'm sure I will find it eventually; at this point I don't even think it's the rope placement but rather how my head is tilted. The Wiki says tilt your head down, but I have seen a number of posts here saying the opposite to open the arteries.

Not asking for help. Just thought I'd share. I know this is a common problem.

That's great! Many people don't realise that it can take days or even weeks to find your sweet spot, so they give up instead. I knew it took me a long time.

What will it feel like when you get the sweet spot?

I FOUND IT!

No pain. Some odd congestion. Blurry vision. Weakness and tingling. No pain.

Focus on the sides of the rope. Make sure it is compressing both carotid arteries equally. Do not rely on the very tip of the rope on the Adam's apple.

I've always been an elitist advocating for firearms or bust. A good rope and a sturdy anchor point, at well as practice (as with anything difficult) finding the sweet spot, and you've got yourself a painless exit. I would like to thank my carotid arteries for this exploitable vulnerability. Other than that, the Suicide Wiki has correct rope placements, hanging positions, etc. This took me roughly two weeks to find.

All I will say is that when your brain is being deprived of blood, it does give you the "oh shit, I'm dying" feeling. It happens almost immediately. Defeating survival instinct is an entirely different story—even if only for a few seconds. However, I got myself my exit of choice that's been practice and proven, and I'll waddle in this euphoria with a cup of coffee and some good music.

Glad I'm not the only one having this problem. Swear I put the rope in the same place every time and sometimes it would work and other times it wouldn't. I'll try making sure the rope is taught around my neck so pressure is distributed more evenly around the sides.
