There are definitely better, easier ways to ctb. The data is there for sure. Being in the immediate blast zone of nuclear bomb, or a meteor would be pretty quick too. While a grenade or other explosive may be instant and pretty reliable, like everyone else said it would be very hard to source. Especially if you don't have knowledge on how explosives behave, you may somehow survive and just end up in a really horrific situation. Also, depending on where you were to do it, you could endanger the lives of other people. But you're not wrong in that is it quick and effective.

Was it explosives? I thought it was the use of a firearm. A gun barrel placed inside the mouth, aiming at the brainstem, would be the fastest way. I think it'd be easier getting your hands on a gun than a grenade or C4. I'm not sure if home made explosives can be that reliable where it can kill you quickly.

I agree, explosives option will land you in huge trouble. And you would be strictly monitored at all times for possession of explosives.
Also, u could lose arms / limbs. Or you could be paralyzed, live with serious injury for the rest of ur lives.

Firearms would be a good option. Near 100% guaranteed success and an easy method. Obtaining firearms depends on respective country's laws. To add to the fact that in certain countries, obtaining a firearm is virtually very difficult (and in certain cases technically impossible).

I advise you to research the methods properly and choose an optimal one depending on you requirements.

Imo, lostallhope is not exactly a very reliable and credible resource one could confidently refer to. It's quite outdated and data on there seems sketchy. Agree, but they have to be careful while procuring them. In certain countries, if caught with them, they could be charged with various sentences, face brutal prison conditions upon being sentenced. Death is far better than being imprisoned for being caught with black powder firearms.

It ultimately depends on the individual's choices and how far they are willing to take the risk.

Technically explosives can arise organically without much struggle. For instance leave a large glass beer (growler) in heat for several days becomes a ticking time bomb. How do I know... Roommate had one in a mini fridge that wasn't plugged in. Roommate 2 moved the fridge went to make sure the shelving hadn't come undone as it sounded like it did. Opened the fridge door and took an explosion to the face... That said I clearly lived.... I wouldn't use explosives as they are exceptionally hard to control. You are just as likely to maim yourself as to kill yourself. So no don't recommend.

You can't merely add the factors together. You have to apply weights. The makers of the calculator that uses the data even state this. Here's the calculator. Here's the study that the data was taken from. You can plug the DOI into Sci-Hub to see the full study. I looked through the study but see no justification made by the forensic pathologists for their ratings.

I would not recommend making explosives but as long as one isn't on a watchlist and take basic security precautions explosives are pretty easy to make. There are plenty of manuals online though their recipes are questionable at best. There is a reason pipe bombs are popular all around the world among pretty much every illegal actor whether it be terrorist groups, gangs, militias or lone wolves of every ideology or non ideological at all. They're easy to make with easily accessible materials and simple guides and usually they are relatively stable and unlikely to blow up when unintended.
That being said, if they find you with explosives your life is basically over and if you mess up while making them you're more likely to end up as an amputee than dead, and the cops aren't going to feel bad for you even if you lost your hands. Don't try it.
