Basically everyone Hated the idea of a nerd even on turbo autismo forums. But why https://scottlocklin.wordpress.com/2024/03/28/against-the-nerds/ Super long article on why nerds bad but key passages Is nerd hate just anti aspie able ism? @frightfulcel or is there something more to it...
A lot of people don't hate nerds. I honestly find the amount of people using the n-word in that thread while putting their superiority complexes on full display to be more concerning compared to the topic they are discussing. It's kind of hard to argue that people simply hate nerds considering the fact that a lot of people, at least from my experience, view being called a nerd as a compliment nowadays. Hell, you have popular online personalities like Michael (Vsauce) and Hank Green who are both nerds and are beloved by many for that aspect of themselves. A lot of people are even perfectly fine with referring to themselves as nerds.
