Story A wholesome dream that had a dark ending

I just had a dream yesterday and it was really wholesome but kind of dark. It reminded me a lot of my childhood. So the dream starts off with my mom dropping me off to my old friends house in the middle of winter. Once I arrive, I see my old childhood friends all playing some gta online and trolling kids. It felt super wholesome. I felt at peace at this moment. Then I went upstairs and I was knocked out. I woke up suddenly in a pitch black dark room. All I remember was that there were only females in that room and they were clipping off my fingers one by one while laughing sadistically. I tried calling my friends for help but they just couldn't hear me. Then after the torture session was done, one of the females forced me to sleep with her. I tried reaching the phone to call 911 and then she stopped me and was about to torture me again before I woke up.

Man, even tho the ending sucked, it was still rather wholesome imo. What I take from this and according other sources is that subconsciously, I want to go back to my childhood when things were different. When things were peaceful. And secondly, the dream about being tortured is that I am bound to seek difficulties in the future.

Thats a pretty interesting dream, i guess its nice you were able to focus on the nicer parts of the experience and maybe find meaning. Ive been having alot of trouble with nightmares recently but mine tend to be multi layered (like i'll wake up from the nightmare but still be in my dream) tbh im not sure if id want a wholesome happy dream i think that might make me feel even more depressed about how things have ended up

Dreams really are strange. I think that I would rather not dream at all personally, I would rather just have peace in sleep. I do find it hard to remember the specific details of what I dreamt about though. It sounds terrifying, the second part of that dream but I'm pleased for you that it wasn't all horrible. I wish you the best.

Sometimes I have dreams like that; they start out wholesome and good, but then they take a very dark turn, but they're usually different from what yours was. Even though I didn't have very many real friends when I was a kid, once in a while I have dreams that I'm in school again, sometimes doing fun things with them, and it's kind of nice. In other dreams, my mom is alive again and we have a really good relationship in them.

Usually, those dreams end with tornadoes destroying everything around me, or I end up drowning in flood water or getting mauled by wild animals. I don't know what the dreambible would have to say about that, but I'm not entirely sure I want to know.
