I'm not an American and sometimes I am a bit jealous of their constitution and then there are times such as the 2nd amendment I say, that's a bit wrong. But there is one line in the constitution, there is the 'right to pursuit happiness'. I bet that argument could be expanded. If pornography calls under the 1st Amendment then surely the right to choose falls under whatever amendment that line is in

Perfectly put. I find it difficult to get angry, but I remember how seething a rage I had once a 'friend' obsessed with me without any response in me, tried to get me to promise not to kill myself. Their obsession was bothering me anyway, but that cheek. Hello, if I am fucking dying, who do you think you are to hold me down? What the fuck are you thinking of with that peanut brain of yours? The so called liberals are not very liberal actually it seems. And they certainly are not pro choice when it comes to suicide. Thats why im a libertarian, not a liberal.

Many modern liberals, or rather progressives think more government can be the solution to everything. Yes progressive is the correct term.

I would say that the right to go peacefully is the most humane thing to everyone, but the rest of the world didn't (or doesn't want) understand that...

At some point death has been medicalised into the enemy. Longevity of life has replaced quality of life and the tools of medicine can make it very long indeed. Psychology barely touches on rational reasoning for suicide when euthanasia is unavailable. It is all a bit of a one sided conversation as a result made all the worse as pain itself and the causes behind it are rarely addressed meaningfully. Being pain free but in stupor unable to read a book or see my niece's ballet is not quality of life as far as I am concerned. My bitterness comes from not being able to say goodbye because society denies me the environment and framework to say it in. without consequences that have no solutions for me.
