A woman drank 7.5 liters of water in a competition and died of water poisoning later the same day. Water poisoning occurs when the body´s normal balance is disturbed by a too rapid intake of water. The brain can swell and stops regulating breathing. A girl drank 6 liters of water when she played water poker. She ended up in a coma in hospital and died. A man drank 10 liters of water and ended up in hospital confused and aggressive. The doctor did not understand at first what was wrong with him. The man died a few hours later in hospital of water poisoning. 1 liter 40 % alcohol should be lethal drinking in less than 1 hour. In rich countries people eat themselves to death, but 200 years ago people died of starvation and we still have world poverty. Starvation takes 45 - 60 days, depending on how much fat is in the body, but you probably die of a disease first. Dehydration takes 1 - 2 weeks. So drinking and eating too much will kill you and vice versa, but these methods are not peaceful.

Something similar happened to me. Once I drank much water around 4 liters at once. I felt dizzy, and I felt like dying, I felt something on my chest. Then I rest on bed for 2 hours till the discomfort feeling went away.

...And I have a weird sense of humor. But for some reason thinking of somebody drinking such a ridiculous amount of water is hilarious. I definitely won't be trying this myself though, drinking only 2 litres in a short time period is enough for me.

It sounds crazy to drink 10 liters of water but the method is reliable - it seems even more crazy to use a suicide method with non-lethal aids - then the person only becomes disabled.

I once drank 7l of water over the course of 1.5h. I felt my brain swelling (if that makes sense), started to sweat A LOT, and ended up throwing up 4 hours later.
I am a short female so I thought it would kill me, but it didn't. Not a reliable method at all, and it's painful. You can literally have a seizure from water intoxication.

Can confirm. I once drank three gallons of water over the course of 8 hours without peeing.

It's a long story, but basically I was in the Marines and had a piss test one morning. My heart observer was a hardcore go-getter that insisted on staring at my stuff instead of just hanging out like all the others. After 8 hours of stage fright I was finally able to go.

I remember starting to walk home, but everything goes dark after that. Apparently someone gave me a ride home. My wife said that I slept for 36 hours straight and only got up to crawl to the bathroom to pee.

I think the only reason it didn't kill me was because I was stationed in the desert and likely sweated a lot of it out.
