Story a lovelock for myself

i have been growing ny rattail for way too long, and at some point it became so long im able to braid it, hair used to be very important in my culture, and i wanted to honor that in some way, ive been familiar with the idea of a hair lovelock for quite some time now, and i was thinking of giving that part of my hair some meaning, i just couldn't decide on who i should dedicate it to, i dont have a partner, nor a person id like to be with, i already show affection to my friends in different ways, and wanted this to be special, i keept thinking and thinking, and recently came to a conclusion - ill dedicate it to myself, ill cut it when i finally get better, ill keep taking good care of it until that day

people laughed at my impulsive hair change at first, but now it looks decent enough, i get to keep most of my hair short so i dont feel dysphoric too, overall, really cool
