Wandering this thing called life

Today I asked my friend what animal she would be if she could be any animal. She said she would still prefer to be a human. How peculiar.

I could never understand that, it's absurd to actually want to exist as this awful species, I think the human species is a horrific mistake, under no circumstances could I wish to be trapped in this disgusting flesh prison that is destined to decay and can torture us to unlimited amounts all while we are aware of how futile everything is. I don't understand how existing is supposedly appealing, I find it tedious and dreadful, I only wish for ideal eternal nothingness where I'm completely unaware of everything. I could never wish to suffer in such a pointless existence, the true problem lies in existence itself and existing disgusts me.

There is a difference between being born to the aweful life human and awesome life human. I would want the awesome life human, the great genetics and rich family. That would be awesome. Not my life, fml

Yeah that's quite peculiar, especially how human-centric your friend is. Perhaps part of the reason for why people identify with humanity is partly due to just by primal instinct, being a part of the species, then coupled with indoctrination (upbringing, families, peers, institutions (school, workplace, banks, and govts, etc.), and social pressure as a whole). I myself would just wish to never be (not exist), not even an animal because I know that animals have even fewer say/control over their own lives and instead only follow the natural instinct of all sentience beings (which is to live/survival/procreate).
