Hi, I am currently planning to CTB sometime this month. My preferred method is full suspension, and with that comes a few questions: Will this be a good anchor point? (sports bar in the picture). I heard that for partial, a slipknot is the way to go, but what about for full suspension? Hangman's knot, slipknot, or something else? And lastly, unfortunately, I will be doing this at home. Do you have any ideas on how to make sure my family doesn't discover my body when they come home? I don't know, maybe contacting emergency services with a 2-hour delay, but if so, how?

Can the pull-up bar hold 3-4 times your body weight?

A slip knot (noose) is used for full suspension. You would only use the hangman knot for long drop.

There's probably not much you do do so that your family don't find you. Delayed messages to emergency services - they would most likely have to break into your flat = destroyed door and so on. Idk what is best.

So long as you test that bar and are confident that it can hold at least 2x your full body weight, it should be fine. Your body will thrash while you're unconscious and your body dies, so you need to account for this. If you install one of these bars, make sure you've screwed it into studs or it will likely rip out of the wall.

My plans if I go is to put a note on my door saying not to come in and immediately call emergency services, in hopes that none of my family will find me. If they decide to ignore my note, then I've done my due diligence and there's nothing I can do about it, I'll be dead. My hope is to traumatize as little people as possible but some things are out of our control. We can mitigate as much as we can, but ultimately it's what the survivors choose to do in the moment.

Thanks for the advice. Even though I barely talk to them, I don't want to traumatize them. My relationship with my parents barely exists, but I still feel bad about leaving them like this. I think your idea with the note on the door is good — I'll leave it, and it's up to them what they'll do.

Thanks for your guidance. It can surely hold me — I sometimes work out on it doing pull-ups. But why 3–4 times my weight? Do you think after-death convulsions or something could put that much weight and stress on it?
