Yea I feel this way too. That I want to ctb because of the things u mention. In order to avoid ending up homeless or incarcerated. The poorer u are in this country the more vulnerable to being locked up for it. Or if u have a mental illness that makes it hard to have relationships and live with others. Liked your blog post thanks :)
On December 2nd of this year, a 62 year old military veteran chose to end his life with a gun on the steps of the Provincial Legislative Building.
He chose the time and place carefully—debate on a cruel Private Member's Bill related to limiting legal MAID was about to begin.
Due to his courageous act, the Bill won't be debated until mid-2020.
His act means that terminally ill cancer patients at a local Catholic hospital are allowed to meet with their legal euthanasia team on the property. Terminally ill patients have had to do their paperwork and assessment at a bus stop near the hospital. It gets to minus 40 in the winter here, and that fact doesn't even address the cruelty of the "Freedom of Conscience Act".
I wanted to post an article about this, but the man's story has been buried.
Society is sick and cruel. Your blog post on this thread is articulate and very timely. Thank you @Miserable

His stepson finally spoke out to the media about delaying the debate and the reasons for the time and place. The media did provide coverage of the stepson's explanation, but the next day it was business as usual.
All the links that I try to share aren't robust enough. I will keep trying.

I've fallen through the societal cracks in many ways.
Once a person has fallen through the cracks, society examines the person.
The cracks are growing.
The examination of the "fallen people" deepens.
Why is everyone ignoring the cracks?
