Firearms thread Is a bit confusing, someone with gun knowledge arround?
Would a 44 mag through the back of the mouth bring me to the otherside?

Probably and at the very least it's a very cool gun to own. Remember though you actually have to aim at the roof of your mouth not the back of your neck or you'll end up talking funny for the rest of your life

What you mean with mouth roof? Straight up will blow the face, or you meant back of the throat with some angle up?

I have never been around firearms, but you should have to target your brain for things to work. Firing at the back of your throat is more likely to cripple you than anything else.

I own a .44 mag and it's gonna be my CTB method at some point. I agree with others ITT that you should aim it slightly upward, but remember that this is one of the most powerful handguns ever and you shouldn't be too worried as long as you use hollow-point bullets.

Study the brain structure. I think a lot of people survive or linger because they just shoot the front of their brain. People even fail with shotguns.

Yes. Stop letting 'gun experts' on here confuse you. My grandmother raised cattle and livestock to sell. When they took a full-grown bull to the slaughterhouse, they butchers put it down with a .22. Think about that. A cow's head. A .22 pistol. YES. A 44 is MORE than enough. Make sure your aim is true and still your nerve. Good luck, with whatever you decide to do.

That gives me confidence . I have a 12 guage shot gun to put in my mouth. and 12 gauge magnum 00 buckshot 1600 feet feet per second. Magnum Slugs 1760 feet per second = no more head. RM "Well guys I guess that's it"

I'll never forget one paramedic's anecdote on a gore subreddit, they responded to a shotgun suicide attempt where the man was just sitting in his garage, whole face and half his brain gone, but still alive and calling out for his mother.

A friend's dad was sitting in a restaurant years ago when a gunshot victim ran in begging for help. He had been shot in the head but the bullet just entered and spun around the inside of his skull. Small calibers do kill a lot of humans every year statistically but its from bleeding out which takes time.

You can watch as many videos as you want on watchpeopledie, people simply survive all kinds of severe firearm wounds, at least long enough to really suffer.

In my opinion you want to combine it with another method such as drowning or hanging to guarantee a quick death.

"About 85 percent of suicide attempts with a firearm end in death." Harvard's website

Do you want to be in that 15% ?

More data, studies, etc https://www.google.com/search?q=shotgun+suicide+attempt+survival+statistics

This is actually somewhat reassuring. I would bet that almost every one of the 15% who survived either used too small a caliber, aimed in an incorrect place, or both. I'd also bet that the unsuccessful shotgun suicide from the gore subreddit was from a guy who aimed under his chin. I've never heard a single story of someone who put the barrel of a 12-gauge shotgun into their mouth, pulled the trigger, and survived.

More than sufficient enough to CTB with, it is an incredibly powerful firearm, and it will obliterate the brain with ease. Also, the other users on here pretty much summed it up pretty well, with a firearm, most failures are due to people who either aimed incorrectly or used insufficient caliber to do the job.
