Method 1,4-butanediol

Has anyone on here tried and successfully ctb using the 1,4- butanediol + alcohol method?? this would be the best way to go for me other than N, which seems to be nearly impossible to source.

I'm going to try with GBL but have been trying to get some input from people on here to no avail so far. The thing about 1,4 BDO, though, is that your liver will process it with alcohol sequentially instead of simultaneously, so first the alcohol will be metabolized, and then only after that's done it'll metabolize the BDO. They don't potentiate each other. The other GHB analogues are afaik processed differently, I think the sequential metabolization is only a BDO thing. It's still not considered "safe" to mix them if you're doing it recreationally but I think the risk is more of coma and less of death with those two alone.

shit... well that sucks. i saw the megathread on it, and it looked really promising except that i didn't come across many people who have attempted ctb with it. i know sn is the popular and preferred method, but this seemed a bit more peaceful and easier access/set up. wish there was more info out there (obviously know why there isn't, but it's shitty nonetheless).

I've been leaning towards GHB and its precursors too, I just think BDO might not be the way to go. It's looking more and more like it needs a polydrug combo to work but I don't have quite enough chemistry knowledge to figure out more than that so far.

totally understand, it's times like these i wish i would've paid more attention in my chem classes lol. but thank you so much for the info! can i ask how you access GHB?

sadly I had a source that is no longer viable so I'm stuck with only the stockpile I have

He was banned for being a scammer hah. GHB seems interesting as a method though, I never really considered. It is used recreationally in night clubs so wouldn't be that hard to get.

A fatal case of 1,4-butanediol (1,4-BD) oral ingestion is reported here, in which a 51-year-old man was found dead in his bed. According to the police report, the deceased was a known drug user. A glass bottle labeled (and later confirmed to be) "Butandiol 1,4" (1,4-BD) was found in the kitchen. Furthermore, the deceased's friend stated that he consumed 1,4-BD on a regular basis. The autopsy and histological examination of postmortem parenchymatous organ specimens did not revealed a clear cause of death. Chemical-toxicological investigations revealed gammahydroxybutyrat (GHB) in body fluids and tissues in the following quantities: femoral blood 390 mg/L, heart blood 420 mg/L, cerebrospinal fluid 420 mg/L, vitreous humor 640 mg/L, urine 1600 mg/L, and head hair 26.7 ng/mg. In addition, 1,4-BD was qualitatively detected in the head hair, urine, stomach contents, and the bottle. No other substances, including alcohol, were detected at pharmacologically relevant concentrations. 1,4-BD is known as precursor substance that is converted in vivo into GHB. In the synoptic assessment of toxicological findings, the police investigations and having excluded other causes of death, a lethal GHB-intoxication following ingestion of 1,4-BD, can be assumed in this case. Fatal intoxications with 1,4-BD have seldom been reported due to a very rapid conversion to GHB and, among other things, non-specific symptoms after ingestion. This case report aims to give an overview to the published of fatal 1,4-BD-intoxications and to discuss the problems associated with detection of 1,4-BD in (postmortem) specimens.

Do you know of any threads discussing GHB/G as a method? For some reason I never really considered it despite hearing about how dangerous it is, and can't find anything doing a search for it either. How is it in terms of peacefulness? Would you simply pass out and not wake up?

I've seen people taking it in parties and am fairly certain I'd be able to get my hands on some if I sought it out. The issue would just be testing it for purity.

so this is an old megathread on bdo, not sure if that's what you're looking for. there isn't a whole lot of solid info out there, and it doesn't seem like anyone has successfully ctb with this method. people have just kinda made hypotheses based on the reactivity of the drug. it does look somewhat peaceful, but iirc, i was looking at it from a speed and ease of set-up standpoint.

This appears to be a fairly new and mostly untested method for the purpose of committing suicide. In my view, there are two relevant ways to look at this: - the theory about how it all works - real world data and other practical considerations 1,4 butanediol is supposed to convert to GHB...
