I have never been suicidal before but after taking zyprexa now suicidal thoughts torment me every day , I was diagnosed with schizophrenia 3 years ago and psych ward prescribed me with this drug and I have been suicidal ever since, no one in my family would believe that the cause of my thoughts is this drug , so I searched on YouTube and I found a taper doctor named Dr Josef and everything fell in place , as I thought zyprexa can cause suicidal thoughts and it also causes emptiness , sadness , restlessness and alot more side effects which I experienced, the problem is I'm poor and I can't go off the medication because I can't afford to buy food for the ketogenic diet which will put my illness to an end , so I'm stuck here with these thoughts and I can't cope , I'm at the edge of ending my life and I don't know what to do .

I was taking that medication too... But just eventually because it makes me look like I am sick. Have you ever tried to stop it? I noticed if you take it for some time and then stop it, you may have like some kind of weird paranoias... I had to take ashwaganda after olanzapine and it took me some time to come back to normal. In my personal experience, most medication for mental health makes me depressed and suicidal...

I stopped taking it once a year ago and I ended up in a psych ward for 3 months , the experience was so terrible I promised myself to take the medication again so that I'll never relapse again, but with the way things are going for me right now I will end up in a psych ward anyway because of how much I'm a danger to myself right now , I don't if I'll make it to the next few weeks , that's how bad the situation I'm in right now

The effect of the antipsychotic is to reduce your production of dopamine and serotonin. The side effects are precisely the loss of "energy." Chances are that your depressive state is having room to manifest itself above the impulsive behaviors that are now under control.

There are some things that can be done, such as writing, editing, light exercise, self-care routines, and taking care of the aesthetics of your living environment.

If you stop taking the medication, unfortunately, you may end up in a state of mental unpredictability. All the conditions of schizophrenia, such as illusions and impulsive and abstract thoughts, would return, and the degree of them may be different from before.

The medications have a strong impact that sometimes takes time to adapt to. You need to analyze whether what you are going through is a matter of time and whether you feel that your body is adapting to the medicated routine.

It is worth remembering that your depression may continue even without the medication. Depression combined with schizophrenia opens up more room for psychosis, so be aware of this. If you need to vent, we're here.

Thank you for the information, I didn't know about this , although I've never been diagnosed with depression, I experience anhedonia , I don't find enjoyment in anything I do which make me feel horrible, things I used to enjoy before i feel numb doing them now and this has been the case for the past 3 years except for the time when I did the ketogenic diet .

Please see if you can carefully watch your life conditions and seek improvement in lifestyle. Things like short walks, reading, and journaling can improve your condition without causing distress in your medical treatment. Take care! đź«‚
