do you think it's doable using one of those cable zip ties? i would think once you tighten it
and lose conciousness that you couldn't come back from that as it's not something that would
loosen once you're out. that, along with a bag over the head, is what i was thinking.
but i could be wrong and failing would not be an option once i'm ready to do it. i would need
it to be successful for sure.
i'm not good with hanging stuff, i just don't know that i could do that kind of thing right.
so figured maybe basically strangling myself with this i guess.
i don't know.
it is something i do have though. and it's a good size one, can even go around my neck twice.

that sounds really painful. If you're not afraid of pain, and you are able to do up the zip tie as tight as you can, then it seems like it could work. There are images on the internet of others being successful with it.

i hope so. it's the only thing I can think of. instead of simply thinking about it and planning it, wish I could just do it and get it over with. sigghhh

Depends if you try partial or full suspension. Try to tie it of a strong point of suspension and try to pull with your hand it.
Besides, it certainly be kinda painful because it could be not strong to pinch your caroitid artery, who is the primary goal of hanging: to cut the flow of blood to the brain to lose consciousness and have less sufferng on the act. However, I think that a zip tie isn't stretch your neck enough to do that and only will bring you asphyxia, that is more painful.
Remember: hanging, only if it's on long drop, will be always painful and bring discomfort to the person who choose this method.

This is what I am thinking of using, a standard cable tie here in the UK is just under 30cm long, that would fit around my neck quite comfortably.

I am thinking cable tie around neck, plastic bag over my head secured with another cable tie and if I can a cable tie around my wrists tying them together (although that could be a little difficult) I won't take any scissors with me so I'll just battle through the pain. I am hoping the plastic bag would speed it up slightly? How long would it likely take to lose consciousness and then die?

There's a risk you will only compress your jugular veins and blood will be pumped into your head with no way back to the heart.

If you go with zip ties, the main thing would be to make sure you have the carotid artery because there's no turning back with the zip ties... at least quickly anyway. Test with something more forgiving first.

An author about "peaceful suicide" in my country claims that ziptie-deaths are being peaceful.

Poor man had no dignity.
Sorry to be (literally) grave digging, but this man wanted to preserve his dignity, which is kind of a big deal in many cultures. Not everyone has access to more peaceful and "dignified" methods. May he rest in peace.

I did not know whether to start a new thread for this. I understand merely compressing the jugular will lead to a god awful death.
I have tried multiple times to exit via cable ties. I pull it closed as tight as possible with pliers.
Literally nothing happens. I don't pass out my face starts to swell. I can breathe (sort of).
This probably means I am only succeeding in crushing the jugular.
This is really my only option left.
This lady successfully exited
Going by the description,it does sound like she hadn't managed to compress her carotid.
I have to make this work. Maybe,my neck muscles are too strong?
Of course, crushing the airway would be horrendous, but effective. SI would kick in like a mofo, just gotta power on through.
Brain damage...leading to a vegetative start or crippling of the limbs would be horrific.
Sorry for rambling, but it all has to end today. I have been unsuccessful in acquiring SN,and am out of time.
ETA:
O.K I have to conclude, this method will never, ever work for me. Just tried again. Pulled the cable tie so tight my neck bled my breathing was raspy,my face swelled and it took a good two minutes to saw the tie off, because I knew it had gone wrong again. It just didn't feel like I was going to cark it anytime soon.
It's a ridiculous predicament for us all. We desperately want to end our lives, but they've made it nigh on impossible,so we resort to desperate measures.
I have been to the cliffs, and the drop looks survivable.
