It's horrible how humans are so cruel but that's just the reality. The human species is just awful to me in general, you certainly cannot trust and rely on other people, the fact is that humans are responsible for endless amounts of suffering in this world.
I'm sorry to hear that and I hope you will feel better with whatever you are going through.
