Let me tell you this: YOU DON'T OWE YOUR PARENTS JACKSHIT. You didn't ask to be born, it was THEM who decided to have you, they brought you into existence without your consent. By them deciding to have you, they are fine with the risk of anything bad happening to you. Abuse. Rape, Murder. If you were never born, then you wouldn't have to worry about things like that.

Food, shelter, clothing, and education is the bare minimum. Someone is not a good parent just because they did the bare minimum for their child, nor should their child be thankful to them. Your parents are supposed to be your guardians, they are responsible for fullfilling your needs.

What angers me even more are abusive parents. FUCK YOU. How dare you bring a new life into this world only to abuse and neglect it? You selfish piece of shits don't even deserve to be called parents, you're a waste of flesh and air, fuck off.

I completely support this OP. Personally, I moved out of my biological mother's house at 16 to a caregiver that was able to provide. The over emphasis on the importance of parents doesn't take into consideration if they're actually able to provide that role.

In my life I have had several relationships with people that attempted to fill the parental role (to varying degrees of success). I appreciate them for what they were able to provide, but I don't think any of them are immune to criticism and potential cut off. We should always have the ability to decide if a relationship is worth it - CBT or not.

Gratitude in general is kind of perverse. Like- thank you to parents, family, God that life isn't as bad as it could be. That it isn't as bad as some poor sods out there. My Dad often is grateful and says how 'lucky' we are. That life could be so much worse. I agree though- it's like- yeah- knowing how precarious life is. I do not owe my parents anything, you are right about that. No one wanted to be born. My parents should pay for everything that I need the rest of my life, including my euthanasia. Not everyone wants to die from old age. Not everyone has such good health that they can die from old age. But there are and have been pregnancies that are/were unwanted. Abortion has been illegal.

Humans should be engaged in human breeding - as they do with the pets - only the best should have children. Then at least I would not have come into existence. Or even better - why not stop procreate so that humanity becomes extinct. It will be better for other species and for our planet.

Hmm but then People would see it as policing people's freedom but it's definitely not a bad idea, a lot of people shouldn't have been parents AT ALL and only did it because they had to, not because they actually thought about it and showed enough competence to demonstrate that they are ready for the responsibility that comes with a child.
