I would make a drug that simultaneously gets rid of the survival instinct and all sensations. All you have to do is take the pill, and then your survival instinct would disappear and you wouldn't be able to feel pain, discomfort, notice the bad taste of something, etc. If I couldn't do both, I would at the very least make the survival instinct disappear. Suicide would be a lot easier.

I think Heroin already does that. Deactivate your ability to give a shit.

...the only problem is that it also deactivates your motivation to CTB,and soon the high will wear off and you'll be back where you started. (or likely worse,withdrawal symptoms and tolerance build up are bitches...)

EDIT: I think Heroin also dulls to some extent your ability to feel pain. I can't speak with authority on the topic,but you could potentially get yourself high on heroin before proceeding with your CTB method,assuming you can motivate yourself to go through with it.

...but if you're gonna do that,you may as well just overdose on the heroin itself.

Non addictive benzos or a drug very similar to benzos. They would use some chemical mix that hasn't been banned yet so you can buy them legally in any shop.

It would have sedating effects and be helpful for sleep disturbance and anxiety. Also useful for easing the symptoms of hangovers.

Something that truly gets rid of pain (mental and physical, while we're postulating here) and you only have to take it..oh say once a week. And you can't get addicted/dependent on it, insurance will cover it (including national insurance/medicaid/medicare) so it's free, and the Drug Czars don't go all nuts about it like they are about opioids right now in the US. I'm seriously terrified of losing my access to my meds (I take Dilaudid and Morphine every day just to function at 50% I need a lot more to function more but my dr is afraid of losing her license for prescribing a higher dose).
