You'll have to consume a lot of it... but it will be difficult to pull it off eating it straight like that, not only that but there will be compounds that will interfere with the taxine and will probably get you sick... which the two are the oils and the ephedrine. You'll have to do an alcoholic extraction to get the taxines. But first, you need to do a pre-extraction using hot water... or a light petroleum based oil solvent with a low flash and boiling point (evaporate completely afterwards)as the two impeding compounds are water and oil soluble, which the taxines aren't.

And if you fear using alcohol, use vinegar. Dispite it being polar, the acid will bind to the taxines and convert them to salts.

For best results, you could minimize the volume of the extract, by extracting the taxines with anhydrous rubbing alcohol and evaporating it and then scraping the residue into a small bottle and cover it with the drinkable solvent of your choice.

What do you think about this essence? https://yorkshirefloweressences.com/collections/single-essences/products/yew They say it's made using alcohol method from yew. Possibly the same extract?

Hmmm... being that it's an alcoholic extract, I'd assume there's taxine. However, I have a vague suspicion that the taxine in it is probably insufficient and that there's mostly oils in there as it says "essence", which is what essential oils are called. I'd be very wary of this.

I read about it before, but I cant find the link right now. Yew in sandwich - the person died.
I think a lot depends how potent is specific yew tree [variety, time of the year]

Most Yews have little or no poison. Bacatta is the one you need, and it is relatively simple to use. The red seeds are the only part of the tree that is devoid of the necessary toxins. It is also best to collect the leaves in winter. Taxine is at its strongest then. You can purify the poison, but eating a lot of the leaves generally work as well.

If you live in UK - there is a lot of Yew trees around old churches and cemeteries. They can be very old, hundreds of years old.
Strangely beautiful tree if you ask me.

this is my method too. Just worried about retching up the tincture. Not sure where to get the proper antiemetics though... Hopefully I won't throw up i guess?

Remember... use anticholinergics; they are the only reliable antiemetic for that. Don't bother with any other type... like dopamine blockers or serotonin inhibitors. The ideal one is scopolamine, which are obtainable from datura inoxia (moonflower) or brugmansia seeds. Both are available on ebay. Dosage is 10 (for inoxia), and 6 (brugmansia). Be sure to chew the seeds thoroughly, and don't get the patch.

Thanks so much for the info. I guess one should chew up the seeds right before drinking the tincture? Like ten minutes before perhaps?
