  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

Aside from the mods running that place to the ground, it now appears to be filled with various semi-pro life posters and minor condescending platitudes. It's starting to mirror /r/suicidewatch or /r/depression

Reddit seems to have become an intolerant site.

/r/TimeToGo was never meant to be a second /r/SanctionedSuicide, the whole point was to enforce the rules in a way that wouldn't get it banned. It was only a matter of time until it would turn to shit the way it did.

Why in particular did Reddit take their harsh stance on pro-choice suicide forums? I don't remember /r/sanctionedsuicide being controversial.

Reddit is a business. It needs to monetize. Pro-suicide forums aren't known to attract advertisers.

Probably cracking down because of censorship of free speech on the internet.

The discussions about suicide/pro-choice have always been highly controversial obviously and could potentially lead to all sorts of legal trouble for the enablers of the platform. That's why Reddit isn't too keen on hosting these debates and apparently decided to silence anything that is remotely similiar to method discussion. Hence the mods are moderating strictly in order to avoid the ban of their sub.
