Help Would this work, a Ratchet strap (no hooks)?

I'm pretty sure those would be strong enough. Might need to put something in between the strap and neck on each side to help compress the carotids. I do think that doing something like this to yourself is way more difficult than someone else (murderer) doing this to a victim.
