Would tying a cotton rope tight around your kneck and just laying there falling asleep work??? Would it be painless? I need an easy way tonight! How about alcohol poisoning?
I'm suffering severely and would like a painless death.
No.
Just by tying the rope around your neck would close your veins first, and you would eventually die, but it would be a slow and painful death.
The blood would accumulate in your head, it will feel like it will explode, and you will most probably loosen the pressure of the rope as you will panic and feel extremely uncomfortable.
What you need to do is close your arteries, which are deeper inside your neck.
In order to achieve that, you would either have to use gravity (as in partial or full hanging), or use a great amount of will power to keep applying the pressure and the squeeze tighter and tighter (like in the tourniquet method or night-night method) - which is extremely difficult to do, unless you have enormous will power and a very tiny muscle-less neck (as very old people have).
There is no way just to tie a rope around your neck and go to sleep.
We would all wish it was that easy.
You must do some research on the topic, and there is a number of threads here on this forum (how to hang oneself, partial suspension, tourniquet, night-night, etc.).
I have been exploring the idea for a decade, and still lack the balls to do it (tried tourniquet once, but my neck is too young and muscular to close the arteries, and closing only the veins is not a pleasant way to die).
