I think in such a world, it would be stagnant, no innovations or advancements, and perhaps in some sense, it may be better in some ways, but worse in others. From a pro-choice and right to die perspective, it would not necessarily be a better place if there was no progress towards from a forced-sentience (due to biological instincts from a evolutionary perspective) and not being able to progress society towards a more compassionate, enlightened and rational worldview for bodily autonomy. By that I mean the concept of 'human rights' did not really come into humanity's history until the last few centuries, and only in the last few decades did human rights' really start to expand meaningfully.
In other cases, the embracing of mediocrity and less of a superiority, or wealth gap, could improve the overall quality of life for everyone; no one individual, group, nor entity can be extremely or obscenely unequal nor unbalanced to most others, which leads to more equality of all groups, both socially, economically, and what not.
