Would it make sense to intentionally give my self cancer/lung disease in order to die a slow painful death? I'd probably do it by vaping or smoking almost constantly and not change the coils after they burn.

it might take 30 years but worth a try lol
There is only one certain way to give yourself cancer: exposure to a sufficient dose of radioactive material
Cancer is not a contagious disease that easily spreads from person to person

maybe you can do a nikola tesla and build your own xray machine

Ive also thought of this. I wonder if assisted suicide would be an option at some point. Like a free and legal way out.

Sounds like doing such a thing would lead to a lot of suffering but it's your decision.

It's possible but a long shot. My grandma smoked 3 packs a day from her teens and lived to be over 80. Then she died an agonizing death, vomiting blood and losing control of her bodily functions. Another method would probably be more effective and less dehumanizing.

You can't guarantee you'll get cancer. And it's usually a very painful way to go. I myself am slowly dying from it, which is one of the reasons I want to CTB. I saw my father pass away from cancer. He suffered greatly. A friend of mine got cancer in high school and died before we graduated. He suffered even more because if you get cancer when you're young, it will ravage your body faster compared to, say, someone who's 80. I've seen quite a few relatives pass from cancer (both of my parents have bad genes - lots of cancer and mental illness). Unless they were very old, the suffering was immense. Not just the process of dying, but the treatment as well.

Wouldn't it just add to your existing suffering without any positives?

I though can understand if you are saying that ctb is so difficult that this would give you a legal and socially more acceptable way to go. I get that and that really sucks.

But please don't give yourself cancer, it's really alot of agony I hear

Do you feel like you deserve punishment greater than a death with average suffering?

In all honestly it would be easier to get another disease that won't take 10 years to get, but I would start with smoking 1-2 packs of cigs a day

It's very painful, very painful, I wouldn't definitely not recommend it, if your wanting to die that badly there are plenty of other methods, if you ever seen cancer patients, you can see the torments In their eyes, it's awful

Everyones saying this is a bad idea but theyre forgetting that it would make it much more likely for you to be accepted for euthanasia in switzerland if thats something you can afford. I cant imagine itd take that long to get cancer if you got some kind of radioactive material and exposed yourself to it 24/7

This is a purely hypothetical question, as it is almost impossible to add this to yourself. And even if it works, nothing is calculable, neither time nor the course of the disease. It would probably be better to seek help here.

Besides that its also almost entirely based on luck and genetics so not very reliable.

I once looked up how many smokers get lung cancer and was a little shocked that it's only 10-20%. (The vast majority of lung cancer cases are in smokers, though.) The warnings I got in middle school really made it sound like a death sentence.

Same here, I think that was the point. :pfff: I never smoked, not really because of the school warnings but because pretty much everyone in my family did and I was always disgusted by the smell. Not just the smell of the-actual smoke but their clothes, hair, furniture, cars, etc. all smelled so bad it made me swear never to be that stank. To this day, my nose can detect a smoker seven miles away. lol

You can buy a used XRay machine or UV Lamp from a tanning bed on Ebay or alpha-particle emitting Uranium on Amazon. Both of those will do the job quicker than smoking. Just find a source of ionizing radiation (Ultraviolet and above) and you can give yourself cancer pretty quickly.

Actually, It is a death sentence, longtime smokers live on average 10 years less than never smokers--Smoking increases the risk of 13 cancers! not just lung cancer, and doubles risk of heart disease, stroke etc

I never smoked either, despite all of my friends smoking at age 13, it just looked stupid to me, and senseless, why put stinky smoke inside your body? My brother died at 67 from smoking, and he just loved life and his big family, but he was also bi-polar/schizo(but a successful Veterinarian), and the internet says 50% of bi-polar/schizophrenics smoke compared to 15% of the general population, so it was much harder for him to quit than the average person

Yeah, but for those with money, but not a valid acceptable reason for legal Euthanasia, would this not guarantee them access to Euthanasia and end the pain quicker?

40% lifetime chance of cancer. compare that cancer painful dying torture bein tortured to death to taking a drink of Nembutal and falling asleep painlessly in 5 minutes.
