Would an UBI prevent your suicide?

An UBI is an universal basic income. For example you get each month 1200 bucks just for being a citizen of your country. This would help me a lot. Might prevent my suicide. Poverty is one big reason why I want to ctb

I thought that getting out of the horrid industry I was forced into because I can't work and going on benefits would reduce my desire to CTB. What it has given me is a sense of security, a base on which to grow plans. Am I happier than I was when I was selling my body? Somewhat.
Has it made me more depressed knowing I'm leaching, definitely.

Even if you had more money? Free time is good for my mental health, too much work can be a disaster. If I had the money just doing my hobbies would be great. Stress is always dangerous for me.

I think I'd have no guilt leeching since I'm expected to suffer in life without my consent. A UBI is probably the only thing that will give me a fighting chance In life.

I think that it could definitely prevent that for me. I would still work on top of that, but keeping me out of poverty if I were to lose my job would keep me alive for sure

No money in the world could help me. Even if I were a billionaire I'd still want to die.

It'd keep me alive longer for sure and allow me to get my own place in some crime filled part of town where I might get gunned down which is a bonus.

I'd still end my life later on but UBI gives people the ability to leave toxic living situations which will improve their life dramatically.

Basic Income sounds good, but I think only very rich countries could afford it. I also think that they would give you just enough to always depend on help. Never trust the government. It is slow, bureaucratic, and ineffective. At least in Spain. It is all corruption. I prefer the mafia, at least they tend to keep their word more than politicians.

Maybe. I will certainly help relieve all the stress in my life and give me a great sense of security. Especially in terms of college tuitons/loans. Maybe even keep me distracted. But prevent it, I don't know. It might give me an excuse to strive more towards life, if anything it might encourage me to do it at a later age instead of my current desire to do it as soon as possible.

Not really but this would make me go through the day with some great amount of CBD...

And with enough spending management, I could make a great trip to the places where I always wanted to be at, before goint to my hideout to ctb.

To be honest, this would be actually kinda a hell to me to live a life where I just afford almost anything and this wouldn't just make all of my problems disappear :|

No because I'd probably abuse it and put myself into debt plus I'd have even less incentive to get anything done so I'd just continue to rot in my own misery.

If UBI ever becomes instated, I'm going to spend my first payment all on Fire Emblem Heroes just to show how useless it is.

I think UBI would solve a lot of problems for a lot of people. It should be done.
The trouble is that until governments begin to tackle tax evasion by their mates in big business, nothing like that would ever happen.

It would make this world a much better place overall. No more poverty, or homelessness, or crappy jobs. However, it will probably never be implemented because our society runs on capitalistic wealth accumulation.

It would definitely keep me going longer. Removing the need to slave away at a miserable job to stay out of homelessness might even make me enjoy my work more. At the very least it would allow me to seek out a healthier work environment rather than being trapped in a toxic one

I basically have something like this, through inheritance, not through leaching from the state. And money sure is nice, but it's literally impossible to cure me even if I had all the money in the world. I'd be lying if I said that it didn't keep me going for longer, and the things that I've been able to enjoy because of it are really amazing, however, those are nothing but pointless distractions in my case.

Besides, the horrible inflation and other issues that this would cause will completely outweigh any benefit that it may have on the short run. Those 1200 dollars will not be enough to buy food for a week at some point, and not only will that bring you down to the idea of suicide again, hundreds of thousands that were healthy before will be suicidal too.

If everyone gets 1200, then no one does. Isn't that how money works? Sry I'm not educated on this, maybe there is some weird shuffling that could make it work by shafting people off-shore somehow. Money only means something when the other guy needs it.

Possibly. It would be an improvement. If it allowed me to live a decent life without working then it would definitely delay but almost certainly not prevent my suicide.
