Devastating.
This man has lived since 2004 like that. 15 years now. An counting. This just puts me off any kind of attempting, until I can assure it. It's just stupid imo to attempt without a guarantee knowing this.

That pro life bullshit of the second page made me want to puke. I get these violent urges against these prolife ignorant idiots. If they were in my face id go to jail.

Whatever method i choose its gonna be done deep into the wilderness, preferably in the middle of winter. Ill just pick a spot on the map thats all green mountain terrain and go there. Hike a few hours into the trees, find a spot and do it there. No fucking way any pro life shit will find me there. Ill ditch my phone too in case those pricks wanna trace me.

I think an advance directive/health care directive/living will is very important for everyone to have, even when they're not planning on dying. And it is not the same thing as a do not resuscitate order, which most doctors will not give to a healthy person. It will NOT prevent first responders from doing CPR and such. Not even a DNR order will prevent them, because in an emergency situation they don't have that information, they don't know who you are and they aren't going to take the time to check until you are in hospital. Both a DNR and advance directive are only used once you are in a hospital or in care after being in hospital.

Doubt many people are continuing to read this thread but I urge everyone to consider this and read up on everything you can.

All I can say is this is disgusting.. glad he finally died.. one article had the quote, "blink twice if you don't want to be here" without saying his response.

Both guys were failed hanging... guess it isn't the best way. Worst fear ever.

I wonder if these cases are impossible with the SN and to a lesser extent carbon monoxide method.
Hanging works by completely cutting off all oxygen, while SN and CO keep a minimal amount of oxygen in the cells, which reduces damage.
I think that the reason SN has literally no damages reported after revival in near death is that the way it works it reduces oxygen intake a lot but doesn't completely cut if off like when hanging. It's anemic hypoxia.

I'm trying to starve myself to death. I'm worried about when the weight loss starts to be noticeable. I will have to cover it best I can and think of excuses. I should be able to die if I want.

And if you fail, just going ultra-thin, you can write a book about "The One Diet That Really Works" and get stupidly rich.

I THINK that CO will reduce cells evenly, not just nerve cells, or select nerve cells/brain areas - the latter would be what turns you into a vegetable with a working body. But anyway, you need to make sure that you are undisturbed for three hours minimum after you start whatever you do, better six, or a full night...

This is fucking scary evil, like fucking hell why would you force people to live like that. It makes me physically mad. Not to mention hanging is going to be my method, makes you want to be very careful. Like many of you, my worst fear.

He still wants to die and all of them think they know better what's best for him?

If an animal is suffering it's accepted to kill it and end it's pain
but suddenly when it's a human he/she HAS to live...

Do we hate each other that much?

If I was his mother I'd apply for dignitas long time ago and if they refused I'd kill him myself.

I don't know how on earth the mum can cope with this. It must be horrific for her but he wants it over. Get him to Dignitas ffs. Keeping him alive in this state for yourself

I just took a look at his mom's facebook post... I know I shouldn't be surprised because of course people will express sympathy, but it's still crazy reading all the "I'm so sorry. what horrible news" posts. His death is a blessing! Also there are lots of posts saying how lucky and blessed he was to have her... um no. He was unlucky. Lucky would've been having a parent with the bravery to put a pillow over his face and put him out of his misery. I mean seriously, I doubt anyone would have bothered charging her. She could have saved him from two years of torture.

Don't worry, he's dead now!

This is the epitome of selfishness; making this guy live in such a horrible way for the rest of his life. He is in pain, yet his family would rather he live years as a suffering dummy than peacefully die.

Disgusting pro life bullshit. It has been said before but I really, truly wish they all end up in locked in syndrome for the next 50 years. Howd you take that, idiots?
'Attempting suicide is wrong. Never attempt suicide'
First of all, fuck you. You never help those who suffer. Only after they die, others notice they were struggling.
Dogs get put down when they are in pain but keeping someone alive in a state like this is suddenly okay? Like, I cant even. Cant express how much I loathe this bullshit. Clueless cunts. Id chop their legs off slowly. Omg this makes me so mad.
Glad this boy found peace!

https://metro.co.uk/2017/10/26/mums...rved-of-oxygen-after-suicide-attempt-7028654/

This is the worst thing that can happen to anyone I´d rather spend my life in a maximum security prison for the rest of my life than this because this is the worst prison to be in to be trapped in your own body especially if the mind works perfectly fine but the body is just unable to move.

This is also why I have said to my parents and brothers IF I ever end up as a vegetable I want to die because this shit really scares me. And what makes me so angry is that the people, police who "saved" him and his mother etc. all thinks they are so good people but they aren´t they are SELFISH!!! Just like getting a child into this world this is also selfish because he wanted to leave this world but was robbed of this, "No one asked to be born so everyone should have the choice to die".

Since he's in the UK, his mother can (at least for the time being) take him to Switzerland or Belgium to get assisted suicide. Granted that they only have until October 31, 2019- the day that the UK leaves the EU, and Britons won't have free passage to the rest of Europe.

In the US, he'd essentially be stuck living for the rest of his life. The assisted suicide states all require 6 months or less to live, so he couldn't get that. The only way he might be able to suicide would be via the Terry Schiavo starvation to death method, but IDK if they'd force him to eat.

Anyway, the 6 month requirement in the US is wrong. It's ridiculous that only the people who are going to die soon anyway can get assisted suicide. Meanwhile, somebody who's a quadriplegic and is expected to live 40 more years has to actually live 40 more years.

The biggest thing is to not be found before you die. getting saved half way through a suicide is tragic. this is why you have to make sure you have solitude when you ctb.

To be somewhat fair, the police didn't know he'd be a vegetable for the rest of his life when they "saved" him. And, actually, the police didn't even know for sure if he was attempting to commit suicide or if somebody was attempting to murder him. Murders by hanging are committed because the murderer is trying to make it look like a suicide.

Once the police had determined that it wasn't an attempted murder, the doctors should have stopped providing him with medical help. Even if the medics didn't actually do any "active euthanasia", he would have died (unconscious and painlessly) if they stopped doing anything to extend his life in the first few weeks.

The mother should take the son to Belgium before that option is gone forever in a few months.

isnt there a thing where you can write down and say you rather be taken off life support if you do become a vegetable?

Was he on life support though? I don't see anything about life support mentioned in the article.

You can be a vegetable but not need life support. Life support just means you can't breathe on your own.
The man of the news died recently, fortunately for him, he found peace from that prison. But others arent so lucky and live decades.

That's wonderful to hear.

Advance directive or DNR. They don't always hold up in case of suicide.

This i why i cant understand the amount of people on here who say they are going to do it in a hotel room , i would go deep into the wilderness / forest , even going as far as getting a mountain bike so i could get as far away as possible in the shortest time ,
I`m sure most people can afford a train fare to some remote town , get a cheap used bike off gumtree when there and off you go .
I know a lot of people it`s spontaneous but i mean for those who plan to do it in a hotel etc
