In 2000, in Massachusetts, I tried to commit sui. I went sent to a local hospital's psych ward for a while, for treatment. I went voluntarily, so no legal measures were taken.

Does this count as being commited? According to the ATF's definition, this doesn't seem to count as commited. I don't want to lie on my firearms license application, but neither do I want to inadvertently admit to something on the application that I don't need to.

Thanks very much.

I have the same questions as all of my hospitalizations have been voluntary.

I'm suspecting my going voluntarily may have been superseded by the fact that I probably wasn't allowed to leave without a doctor's OK?
