There's no way it would even get made without seeming extremely pro-life and getting overly preachy about how suicide is bad or whatever. Plenty of anime or other Japanese media that have covered the topic has leaned that way.

I think the sadness and honesty would translate as a beautiful film amongst the arc of stories in Myazaki's collection. And would serve as a balancing point for Grave of the Fireflies.

It's more about art than it is about prolife politics. I won't waste my breath recounting those angles/perspectives.
