  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

Stylometry is the study of linguistic style and combined with AI it can to a certain degree identify individuals based on how they write. This technology is already being used in academic research, cybersecurity, forensics and potentially in social media analytics.

In the EU data regulation would prohibit the use if it infringes privacy rights.

Tbh I think I will never publish anything on my real name. Moreover, my writing is pretty different when I write something for academia/put a lot of effort in it. I don't think this would save me though. I dislike to write texts on German on here publicly because I know my style of writing could be easily traced. And being a SaSu member is in my biography rather a track record.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. You're going to see crazy, crazy s*** happen over the next several years because of AI. Scammers are going to use it to hurt people and steal from people in new and even more innovative ways.Governments will use it to screw over the populace even more than they already have.Bear in mind, the normal AI that we have access to won't compare to the technology that the military and the governments have. They keep a lid on that.

I mean, I write pretty much the same, unique (and kyute! ;3) way everywhere, and it's pretty obvious I'm here to anyone who knows me well enough~ Regardless, considering that the AI can't determine whether my emails are AI-generated or written by me, it'll probably be a long time~ :) well, unless one simply writes enough text to be personally-identifiable~ >_< That being said, bad opsec (idk what it stands for, but I know what it means~ xDDD) is still probably going to be a greater downfall of people for the next decade~ Plus, if crimes can't be legally proven solely via DNA evidence, I doubt SS membership can be legally determined solely the same way! ^_^

I've heard of that scammer stuff happening already~ >_< and ngl, it wasn't even very good and yet it still worked! D: and it's going to keep getting better~ :((( 'tis a scary world!

The thing is the AI bubble will burst the same way as the .com bubble. Silicon valley is hyping up AI so much that it feels like skynet. We are at least 30 - 50 years away from anything that can hard humans life.

If you google a bit, you can see that the bubble burst might happen this year. But realistically it might happen in next 2 years.

Also, it's not that AI can become sentient. Unless they can build a model like UI - UPLOADED INTELLIGENCE, it ain't gonna happen. The rest is spook tactics.

Microsoft just announced their second largest layoff in history, and their reason was specifically that they were going to use AI to replace those jobs. 6000 plus people. It's brutal. Where will these people go? When other companies do the same thing and fire people, they're not going to rehire these people. They'll just be stuck in limbo.

Pretty much all intellectual work is screwed in the next 5-10 years. Tradies have their day in the Sun until the robots get better but that won't take much longer. Then we get to decide what to do when AI and robots do everything for us. Assuming we live through the transition.

As for being doxxed, the 5 eyes already have that capability without AI. We're all doxxed already. If we become annoying enough to the wrong people, it gets exposed. This pre-dates AI, but will get easier with it.

Not referring to over bloated / over paid tech industry or jobs being replaced. Was referring to how AI can cause harm and scammers can use AI to scam.

Tbh, even before AI, these tech industry folks brought programs like ERPs and replaced office secretary and receptionists. They replaced customer support agents ( I was a victim of this). So I personally know the pain.

In regards to re hiring, it might happen or it might not. But then, they won't be paid 6 or 7 digits and then their ideas won't kill minimum wage employees.

Hand made garment factory workers were killed off by sewing machines. Screen printers were killed off by printing machines.

So ya it certainly is a vicious cycle. But, my point was in regards to glorifying AI to an unprecedented levels for fear mongering.

The AI might also make people more productive, like how instead of having 20 people on a single assembly line, there are now 20 robotic assembly lines each overseen by one person, producing more things, leading to cheaper household products and overall improved living standards globally.

TVs, electronics, household items, and appliances have continued to improve and drop in relative price very quickly partially because of the rise of robotic assembly lines since the 80s.
Healthcare, housing, and education are not created by robots, but by the evil humans, who only drive prices up or quality down.

Most AIs are also being built to care unconditionally about you, at least right now and for the foreseeable future. I think I'd rather have an AI in charge of me than a human.

*Not written by an AI lol

This is my absolute deepest fears!
As technology improves there will not be anymore privacy.

I dont even trust my phone sometimes, I maorly cover the camera in take yes all my devices have is cover by a black tape.

Is too much? Maybe but I rather not be watched.

Is true that any electronics can see you or record you without your knowledge?

I believe carriers install apps that allow enforcement to gather all data without a warrant.

Social media is monitored

Edward Snowden has talked a lot about this stuff.
