I'm a senior. My grades are slipping fast, but at least I'm almost out of here.

Do you guys think shit will start getting better after high school? I can't stand the stress of going there every day and doing assignments anymore. I haven't been to a full week of school since the start if the quarter.

But even after high school, I'll have to get a job, or go to college... that doesn't sound a lot better. I guess I'd rather be paid for my misery though

It might and it might not.
Only got worse for me, I realized most of the bullshit you deal with in highschool is the same bull you will deal with for the rest of your life, people just learn to be more covert about it or spin the shit in seemingly more "mature" or insidious ways.

I thought it was better after that. Main variable will be can you be financially self sufficient or mostly self sufficient. What also is important is your expectations

My life certainly became MUCH BETTER after school.
I had terrible days, horrible classmates and was all alone.
Then, I met DECENT PEOPLE who were lovely!
Now, I'm still suicidal because I just find life pointless but damn..I've really had fantastic moments through my 33 years of life.

it really depends. Many people say it gets better, but thats not guaranteed. For me it stayed the same since I couldnt get myself to change for the better before starting college. However pretty much everyone is nicer and more mature, the work is more difficult but you arn't required to sit in a building all day with a bunch of children that act like apes or teachers who act like prison guards. So, some parts of post highschool life get easier, while some get harder

If you can't take the stress now, just wait because it's definitely gonna get worse. Learning how to cope with the stress is the key to life. Eating well, exercising regularly, talking to others and avoiding drugs and alcohol will help you cope.
I wish you nothing but the best.

If you act now to manage stress and mental health then yes, it will get better. Sort out any health issues, sleep, exercise, diet, social skills, etc. Learn all about money and jobs. Analyse your childhood and ask yourself what you really want in life. Don't just blindly go through life.

Well I'm going to have to keep living into adulthood. I probably won't like it, but I'll evaluate it when I get there. I, at the very least, need to get a job to get some cash so I can buy materials to CTB. And hopefully I'll get some real living arrangements (I'm currently living in a motel) so I can be more sneaky about it.

In many ways it gets a lot better but in other ways you just gain other, bigger things to worry about. It unfortunately largely depends on your financial prospects.

I always advocate for young people to at least meet adulthood and gain full autonomous independence before CTB because your situation and your values often change drastically as you grow.

I wanted to CTB when I was a teenager and I'm glad I didn't, even though I still want to now at 33. I want to now for quite different reasons, which I respect more than my teenaged motivations which in hindsight were rather narrow-scoped and not well-meshed out, because i simply lacked real-world experience. I am glad that I have at least tried life to the best of my ability, because I understand so much more about our society and our reality, and also myself. As I became older I made good improvements to me and my depression, and how I feel with things, which helped me. Now my problems with life are largely external and things I am powerless to change.

But everyone is different and it mostly depends on your quality of life outside of school and your family. For example if you are seriously disabled now, this is unlikely to improve with age and growth.

I hope you can stick it out for the time being. School sucks.

I think it depends on how lucky you get and how good your support network is.

I always used to think that my life would get better after high school but amazingly, it hasn't, its managed to get worse.

If you can get a decent job with coworkers you dont hate working with and have good friends and a family who loves you, or a boyfriend/girlfriend it goes a long way.

I sadly have none of that, horrible paying job, which i suck at and hate my coworkers, no friends, no girlfriend, a family that are all narcassists. The only thing im really living for is my dog, who will sadly be gone within a few years. Unless something drastically changes i will ctb soon after my dog dies.

I hope things work out for you in adult life though. Just because it hasnt worked out for me doesnt mean it hasnt worked out for others and could work out for you.

It certainly CAN get better. It does for some people. Whether it does for you remains to be seen.

If it's at all possible I recommend trying to get some kind of post-secondary training or education if you can, whether it's college, community college, a trade apprenticeship, or vocational school. It could possibly lead to more comfort in whatever time you have left.

I can only speak for myself, but the few little accomplishments I've been able to do make me feel a little better about leaving the world behind.

I think it depends on what country you live in to a rather high degree, but I'd say that things do get better for most people. High school is a tough period in life for many people and moving on can be a great relief.

Don't do the stupid thing all ppl do, getting married and having children. It's stupid, doesn't fix anything and just makes life boring, instead study a career that you really like that will get u a job that gives you flexibility to not be around people all the time as coworkers can be good Or it can be hell. Spend your money on yourself and chasing your dreams. The only good thing in life I have done and that I'm proud of is not having children. You'll be freer alone but that's just my opinion.
The social dynamics of school are the same in a job so if U don't like social interactions find a career where you won't be in an office trapped all day with ppl.

Hahahaha luckily when I was In school there was no Social networks, it must be hell now with those, one mistake and all the school will know what U did the very next day. Poor kids I feel for them.... not to mention the impossible « beauty » standards girls need to catch up with... pneumatic breasts and butt, rubber lips, all courtesy of a very sick pop culture that has normalized the pornatization of culture. Gross and disgusting.
