Why is it always overly privileged healthy rich people that say everything will be fine, everything is fine, and you can achieve anything you want in life, and you're just lazy?

It seems the more privileged someone is the less empathy they have for others.

Any those people often think if you're poor, sick or whatever it's fully your fault, and only yours

Sadly it's often also the worst people who end up in power.

I think we live in a very evil, corrupted world.

Undoubtedly. I get why people wouldn't understand fully, since they can't know what is in someone else's mind and how they really feel. But like you say, trying to be empathetic would be much better. Maybe they think it's encouraging or something.

They are just blinded by their delusions and their privilege in life allows them to be delusional. If people actually say things like "you can achieve anything you want" then that is complete nonsense that doesn't reflect reality. In this cruel world chance determines everything and many people are disadvantaged all through no fault of their own. Those who are the most privledged in life are in that position because of luck, rather than hard work.

I know that she didn't say it, but the line of "let them eat cake" comes to mind.

Saying you can achieve anything you want is paradoxical. If that was really the case, there'd be no need for such an absurd platitude. In reality, we have very little control over our situation and we're forced to live without free will. The thing I want the most is death; it's the end to all suffering, it's eternal peace, and chance is not part of the equation, but unfortunately it's not an option because we actually can't do whatever we want. The people who say these statements are unempathetic at best but their listeners appreciate the hollow words to drag them through the murky pit that is this hellhole. It's best just to ignore them as they gain pleasure from looking down on others and having their hero complexes fulfilled. I hope you find peace soon, I probably won't.

Yup, people in this world love to victim shame, because it makes them feel superior, people will do ANYTHING for that feeling. Also, they don't want the responsibility of helping someone else, even with just comfort.

I'm privileged and still find myself in misery--pretty, intelligent, in a wealthy household, and has a boyfriend. Those things don't bring me much happiness as I have gotten more depressed. Trauma is hard to weed out of the subconscious mind... wish I could really live the "fortunate" life that was given to me.

Yes, this is supported by research. And those with less privileges end up having too much empathy for those above them. Because bad things happen if they misread them. So they think from the perspectives of the higherups more, which causes them to identify with them more

Victim blaming is a hell of a drug. Most people don't want to believe that bad things can happen to anyone, no matter their circumstances, so they cope with it by assigning blame on the victims even when it isn't logical.
