Sure it's expensive, but anyone over 18 of sound mind can be accepted, illness or not, depression or not?
Looks that way according to websiteSure it's expensive, but anyone over 18 of sound mind can be accepted, illness or not, depression or not?
Question is how easy it would be without anyone knowing...Sure it's expensive, but anyone over 18 of sound mind can be accepted, illness or not, depression or not?
What is??thats a myth
I'l lbe telling everyone. Finally no need to sneak around.Looks that way according to website

Yeah how long will that take, and how tough will the criteria be? Imo we'd be lucky to get eurhanised if we only had 6 months to live, let alone just for being fed up with life. Fuck the UK, I wanna be in SwitzerlandI'm not really that knowledgable about this subject but I have read of people having their Pegasos application rejected. I think they consider applications on a case by case basis and it sounds complicated to apply. There are a lot of threads about this on here and many of them say conflicting information.
I think that the main reason why it isn't discussed is because people don't live in the countries where assisted suicide is legalised so they would rather just go for options that are more convenient for them like SN. I wish that there was some kind of assisted suicide/euthanasia in the UK. There really should be.
they wont take you if you are healthy if you are too young to their standardsWhat is??

Suicide is tragic. Euthanasia, not so much. Being open is the way to go imo
just be prepared for the big disappointment ..Rubbish, they will take you if you're healthy! You just have to be 18+ and of sound mind
Welp, I guess I'll be the proof for the forum when I get accepted ;)

i was just about to post that lolFAQs – Pegasos Swiss Association
pegasos-association.com
Pegasos Website. Have a look at the who can apply section. "Pegasos does not accept young people who are depressed". They refer them for counselling.
You're right. It's not as easy as people think. I've been in touch with Pegasos. People in Switzerland have said it's not easy for them either. Members on here seem to think it's euthanasia on demand. If only!I'm not really that knowledgable about this subject but I have read of people having their Pegasos application rejected. Exactly!they wont take you if you are healthy if you are too young to their standards
same with mental health issues if you are in your 20s or 30s - no chance!
the ,,Pegasos accepts everyone who wants to die'' is simply not true
This has been changed recently (probably March or April) due to litigation and tightening guidelines by Swiss Medical Association. In fact 2 Arizona sisters were assisted by February for the reason "tired of living", instead of getting cheaper then things go south with following case:FAQs – Pegasos Swiss Association

Let us know what the trick is if you get accepted. It's simpler for those with physical conditions. For mental health conditions there are all sorts of hoops to jump through.
It says in the article that the sisters were aged 48 and 54 and had physical complaints like slipped discs chronic back pain insomnia and vertigo. It also says Pegasos gave them a psychiatric evaluation. This has been changed recently (probably March or April) due to litigation and tightening guidelines by Swiss Medical Association. Comfort is still very expensive. The Sarco pod has been on halt display since 2019.
Btw, I tried to apply in the beginning of 2022, they asked for "serious medical record" which I don't have.
I still wonder what "young" means to them.It says in the article that the sisters were aged 48 and 54 and had physical complaints like slipped discs chronic back pain insomnia and vertigo. It also says Pegasos gave them a psychiatric evaluation.
I was in touch with Pegasos nearly two years ago and they had the same ruling about young depressed people then.
I don't have the required medical records either.
They have a connection with Exit International who help their members apply. It seems those sisters in the article did it that way. If you're under 50 but have physical conditions Exit might allow you to join.I still wonder what "young" means to them.
I have plenty of debilitating medical issues, but it's a huge hassle gathering all the records from so many doctors. I started applying a few months ago, and just didn't have the energy or motivation to continue after I obtained N. The travel involved with all the pain I have is too difficult, as well.
I'd much rather use their services than DIY. Knowing that death is certain would completely eliminate all the fear I have.
I agree. It's Swiss law that you have to be accompanied by somebody to identify you after death. Again Exit can provide someone to accompany you. For this you have to be a lifetime member which obviously costs more than yearly membership. They also seem to involve (from the quick browse I have done) a lot of paperwork to be completed, alongside the medical documentation and they prefer that you are accompanied.
Also they sound really pricey, I want my meager savings to go to my loved ones, not a faceless corporation who are going to make me jump through hoops
I'm over 50, but I don't want to join Exit. I've seen what they offer with regard to Pegasos through somebody I know who's a member, and they don't help to gather medical records. They can't.They have a connection with Exit International who help their members apply. It seems those sisters in the article did it that way. It is a lot to go through. I'm sorry it's all so difficult.I'm over 50, but I don't want to join Exit. I've seen what they offer with regard to Pegasos through somebody I know who's a member, and they don't help to gather medical records. They can't.
I have to get and sign release forms to obtain my records with all of my doctors and wait for them to come in the mail. I then have to scan them into pdf files to upload them to the Pegasos application. And, as I mentioned, I couldn't handle the long flight. Just existing in my house has become incredibly difficult.
Thank you for trying to help. I appreciate it.
I'm under 50. Can I join Exit international? If you're under 50 but have physical conditions Exit might allow you to join.
