Why is it perfectly acceptible to humans that if an animals gives up on life, and it is COMPANIONSHIP that makes them feel alive again... that we think it's beautiful, cute and we seem to get it. But when it comes to people... We think that it is an abomination to need a true freind, companionship to give life another go. And without it, animals stop eating.... They get depresed and come die. But when humans do the same damn thing we are met with contempt and disgust. UGH... I cannot wait to get away from these brainwashed hypocrites!!! Cause I'm a human animal I am supposed to be able to forgo connection and if I feel like CTb or dying I am seen as weak, when even the damn animals demonstrate its perfectly how sentient beings are wired!!! I dunno, I relate so much to these animal stories:

That was really cute to watch. I needed to see that. I think I would have been better as a cat. But in reality, Humans are the cruelest animals. But not all of us. There are a few good people out there; like Emma in the video. Taking in & caring for another animal that can't care for itself is one of the best contributions humans can make to our planet.

I really don't know what to say snowman626. The truth is often painful to read... because it is the truth.

My brother, now dead, had a genetic condition that caused significant disfigurement. He once said to me "I'll never have a girlfriend" I looked at him and wanted to say the 'right' thing, you know, something like 'yes you will, don't give up hope' but the truth was there to see. I said something like 'I wouldn't say never but she would be something special' Because they would be special, they'd need to see past the superficial.

I certainly can't offer advice but I'd want for you not to give up hope. 'Never' is a word used in desperation and is not always correct - but you need courage and I wish you strength.

Indeed they can - but I think we might be talking of different things. That is, what is meant by "natural beauty". I wasn't really referring to a situation that people might call 'natural'. I was simply reminded of, and commenting on, my brother's case. He had neurofibromotosis and was covered in quite significant tumours - people would literally stop and stare. It was naive to think he could find a partner as easily as someone without such disfigurement. Not just because of his looks but also the damage it did to his self esteem and confidence.

To be clear, I cannot (and was not) commenting on snowman626's situation - because I obviously know nothing of it. Dating is for many people a minefield - I was simply wishing them courage in tackling it. Never say never, sort of thing.

I am good looking but it never helped much. I have zero social skills and make people uncomfortable and awkward. I am so lonely. If I just had friends life would be so much easier.

Social media is killing our ability to connect with one another, it's neither social nor media. There are numerous scientific studies proving that social media is having many negative effects on how we behave in relation to each other.

SM users have higher rates of depression, they spend less time actively engaging people, it's causing divorces to skyrocket, gives us unrealistic expectations of beauty and life. Polls have also shown that 9 out of 10 people will not approach you while you have electronic devices in hand. This is just part of the problem really.
