Why is our options taken away??

I hate living and should be able to make an informed decision to end my life if I choose to. With N basically not an option anymore and now it seems SN is becoming almost impossible to source, we are left with unreliable or painful options. Dogs get better treatment than us. Once a viable option is known it seems to get shut off and our pain continues.
Is it just me or does it seem that the powers to be enjoy torturing us ?

If people were free to leave the theater whenever the play becomes intolerable to bear, then what should become of the highly paid actors torturing everyone with their abysmal performance?

Fact is that ever since that carpenter's illegitimate son bestowed us with his believe system, the freedom to terminate once's own has been frowned upon in Western society. Its the same as with prostitution, drug use or gambling: Virtue demands we end all vice, regardless of the suffering such an intolerant moral imperative is causing.

Yes I agree. And the most absolute truth of all is that in 130 years from today all 8 billion humans alive now will be dead. So the question remains why do they want to prolong the suffering of us who are suffering or will suffer extremely if we are going to die anyway no matter what. There is no reason why N or SN or someone assisting suicide to you should not be available to those of us who are suffering. I'm going to die anyway so why should I prolong this suffering ?

Here in the U.S. they put DR. Kevorkian in prison for assisting very old people with terminal illnesses in pain to commit suicide . So they made it illegal for anyone to assist in suicide.

Visualize the year 2123 100 years from now I along with almost all humans will be dead. This is the most absolute certainty , the incontrovertible truth that every human will die no matter what.

It's almost 2023 , time does fly faster than humans realize the year 2022 flew by

In the Universe's time scale the life of a human is a tiny blip, even the life of The Sun and Earth a few billion years is a also a blip. The universe is expanding and always has since 13.8 billion years since the big bang since it started and will continue to expand , the rate of expansion is accelerating....

I think there are many good methods. Some of them may be a little uncomfortable or painful, but the pain is relatively small compared to the seriousness of the decision and the havoc it causes.

People are happy to undergo all sorts of painful procedures or engage in activities where painful accidents are a very high probability. But a little pain before you're dead and won't feel a thing anyway? Nope, that's too much. It just doesn't make sense to me.

If someone really wants to die, the method is not the issue. The problem is that these people don't really want to die, they just need the attention. Nothing is wrong with needing attention, but that's my opinion anyway. I am sorry if someone finds my comment upsetting.

Btw CO poisoning by burning charcoal is relatively simple, pain-free, and easily available.

The rulers don't want to lose their subjects. People don't like to think about why someone would want to die. People get tied up with moral beliefs. Some people can't imagine the reasoning behind it. Some people think more about how going through with it affects others and not so much about how it is for the person who actually does it. People care more about how they feel about it than what is happening to other people.

People just don't care.

I actually think that the method can be the issue. Pain potentially being experienced during the dying process isn't the only method related factor that can potentially hold someone back from ctb, there is the fact that many methods involve risks and if the attempt somehow fails the person can end up with damage. Also some people may struggle to go through with ctb due to their life circumstances, like they may have a health condition which limits what they can do. Believing that people who struggle to go through with ctb just want attention is such an ignorant view, that's the type of thing that non suicidal people say who have no idea what it's like. Suicide really is so unnecessarily complicated in the world that we exist in and there is also the fact that there is so much secrecy surrounding suicide plans with risks of others potentially interfering for many people.

But yes, it's like the society that we exist in wants to torture people and prolong their suffering as much as possible. It's extreme cruelty to deny people the options of reliable ways to leave behind a life that they never even asked for in the first place. We really shouldn't have to struggle so much to leave this world and life should be viewed as a choice rather than something that must always be prolonged. Everyday I wish that I had N, as it would solve everything for me. A peaceful death solves all of life's problems and having the option of that would be ideal.
