Why is one of my friends who’s a girl willing to put up with me even though I can sometimes be really needy?

She's not very available though. She was abused too. But I would say her attachment style is avoidant while mine is anxious.

When you said she's not very available though that may be a sign that when you do connect with her maybe the neediness is an issue- maybe if you can tone down the neediness some then she would be more available. Everybody needs caring but if you ask for too much at once this might be tough on her because she only has so much she can give.

What I was thinking about was spending a lot of time talking about your problems and needing help and encouragement with these problems- that can be a part of a friendship but the larger part needs to be enjoying each other's company- joking around, sharing a meal together, listening to her concerns some, if she wants to share them, as well. Spending time together doing fun things like a movie or whatever.

Idk lol it's your friend not ours. How tf would we know. Some people like feeling needed. Some people like constant messaging. Some people care a lot. If someone likes/gets along with you the more likely they are to bear with negatives but not to everyone will it be a negative, some might like it or be indifferent.

Not saying being needy = gross AT ALL but I think I read somewhere that when people love someone they have much higher tolerance to grossness (think changing diapers, caring for someone while they are sick, vomit, etc...) and that's just how it works with anything, the closer you are to someone or the more they like you, the more they are willing to overlook negatives. But like I said, they might not even see it as a bad thing.

Example, I have a friend who's not pro choice (albeit has suicidal ideation too) but puts up with me when I get very suicidal and go on and on about how much I want to kms. We get along, we are close and she's mental health friendly and educated and we relate to each other and she cares. It's your friend mate. You tell us?
