do you think it is? like it's on and off technically like the urge that i am 100% going to do it, and im getting spirochlorine in today finally which is stronger than fentanyl. i just promised my sister i was going to throw it away though but ya im just so done. i'm supposed to be moving into an apartment and excited but i want to die

I think because if it's something so spontaneous then it might actually not be a thought out genuine decision that you'd still feel tomorrow is the real core issue. If someone truly wants to die then go ahead, but if they just want to for the moment for whatever reason but generally wouldn't want to then it's not the right course of action. Not to mention the fact that if you don't plan it you might not actually do it right, or there might be things you'd have done differently if you had the time. It's about doing it right I think.

yeah that makes sense. ig im just very impulsive like i dont know how people are planning months or years ahead. my sister is giving birth pretty soon like next month, so it feels like i should wait for that. but i also want to die, and i think id be doing it right

It's very easy to get brain damage / organ damage if you haven't planned it out thoughtfully
Other than that I'd say pretty much what @VoidButterfly said.

Depends most people rattle on about damage but that completely depends on your method. Some methods are so stood you better be sure. Some aren't. The silver lining is if it works you won't be indecisive any more.

Because of the finality of it, it's a bit different than impulsively cutting your leg, or taking an overseas trip.

It can be a good decision impulsively in certain circumstances, but they tend to be when something so extreme has just happened that all hope is lost. Like if you're in the trade center when the plane hits and the fire is about to engulf you, you impulsively jump out to your death. It's the right call. It also captures what I think should be the necessary preconditions for impulsive ctb - all hope is extinguished, the only potential future from here is worse, and it's coming fast.

But most impulsive decisions aren't so clear, and they're usually poor ones. If your partner dumps you so you run to the nearest tree and hang yourself because you're sad, that's impulsive, but it's a terrible decision.

yeah for me rn it's more impulsive like i just took benzos, and i just don't see a future of me being happy. and ive felt that way since i was like 13 always waiting like okay i have to do it before i turn 14, and now i just think i could do it. and i wish mine was like that tbh that's part of it lol feeling like ill never be in a relationship

This is where securing the items for your method and a little practice is important.
It may be on a whim, but you have what you need and know how to use it.

If someone has an account on SaSu, and has an exit plan that they've prepared and practiced, then it's not really spontaneous anymore, even if the feeling to finally go through with it comes on a whim.
