I have been wondering why there is a being that is aware of itself and its position in relation to itself. The 3 main basic characteristics of the human could be summarized as being upright, using the vowels a-e-i-o-u (language) and the shape of the hand (imagine if we had not had thumbs). While we live we are the only species that can voluntarily go against nature and freely decide that everything is over, but. As far as death is concerned, we can only think of it from-life, you cannot be dead and conscious. only we are the animals who know that the animal will will end one day. meanwhile, people die around us but never ourselves. all thought, all logic is part of life. nothing is known about death because the attempt to know something about it can only be thought from life. fear, pain, sadness... are LIFE. Said definitively: "without the human" death would not exist, no animal can think of it... My conclusion is that the human being is necessary for death to recognize itself, only through the human can death be thought. maybe we are his whim. tormented we wander through a world that makes us believe that it exists as such and as such, but no. death does not exist, the things that exist are in life. the physiological phenomenon of dying itself is the opposite of birth. what keeps us here is the fear of continuing to be even worse. that's why everyone looks for painless and effective methods, because the real fear is in life.

Wel, reflections of a tortured dying man

I believe other animals have their own forms of interpreting death, we just go deeper and look for an afterlife, or a meaning of life, because humans have more intelligence and we use it on everything

I think being aware of death and fearing it- both instinctively and psychologically is just another way of keeping us alive. All life seems to have the primary goal of staying alive and reproducing.

I think self awareness/ ego and this idea that we're unique and special probably INITIALLY came about like everything else does- evolution. Maybe it gave early man the edge when they started to realise they were alive and were capable of dominating. Being aware of being mortal is useful because- on top of instinctively avoiding danger- it probably ensures you don't do anything stupid to endanger yourself before the situation becomes critical.

I agree though- what REALLY fascinates me is how this consciousness appears in some of us to have taken a very unnatural route- I won't reproduce and I'll kill myself. On the one hand- I suppose it could be seen that fewer human beings are better for the overall survival odds of the species- we are too much of a drain on this planet in our current numbers.

Still- I'm more inclined to think that a part of us has broken away from nature. As a species- we are INCREDIBLY influenced by culture. So- do the religious commandments say- apply to animals- no- they are laws written by man- or- Gods if you happen to believe. They aren't natural laws.

I think we still have connections to nature. I think survival instinct is a primal connection to nature but I personally believe that our conscious/ thinking minds are an aspect that has broken away from it and can decide to do plenty of things that don't benefit the natural part of us- or- the species or world at large- come to that.

I LOVE the idea of us being death's muse though- how poetic. ❤️

I didn't quite follow most of what you said, but your final two sentences stick with me. I can't quite explain why. Thanks for sharing :)

What is the reason to be a bird, or a fish.

Being a smarter monkey can be interesting though, maybe it's the ulterior motive of evolution.

Maybe one day we will be like gods.

At least humans have the awareness to recognise that existence isn't worth enduring and is something completely futile and meaningless unlike animals who are trapped in this cycle of suffering as they only act in a way in order to survive which involves reproduction, it really is tragic to me how life even exists in the first place. And I think the fact that humans have the ability to be conscious and aware is why fictional concepts like the afterlife are created, humans find it difficult to accept that they will lose everything in death as this existence is all that they know. I believe it to be true that death doesn't exist, in fact it's the complete absence of everything.
