Why do people wake up during partial?

The times I tried in my closet were because although I'd pass out on the ground, my body would naturally just try and get up. Basically there was slack on the noose so it allowed me to move and unrestrict myself, subconsciously

There are a number of factors, the rope/belt/ligature breaking, the survival instinct where your body involuntarily pulls off the rope or whatever out of desperation to survive, not tying it properly and slipping out of the noose.
